Hey ladies so this post may be a little gross, but it happens :p
So when I get blemishes, 75% of the time, they're under the skin. (This may be a little gross) Its awful because when you touch it, you can feel that there's a lot of gook in it. Since its under the skin, treatments for blemishes don't work because it can't break the skin and neither does popping it because there's nothing to pop. So how do I get rid of it? They get red, puffy, an painful and I hate it because I have to go through the misery of trying to make it go away, and I end up making it worse because I can't, so it causes it to last even longer. So is there some way to get rid of blemishes underneath the skin? (Also if you happen to know, what causes them to form under the skin? If its something I can prevent, I'd like to be able to!). Thank y'all! :)

Use an exfoliant and something to scrub your face it may hurt when you scrub it but its worth it and then steam your face ( turn the hot water on in your sink and put a towel over your head and the sink and just sit there for a good minute or 2) then your pores will be open and apply an acne crream or something along that line.

I use a cream called acnomel. it can be hard to find but it's freaking amazing. you just put a but on and the next day it dries it up and you don't feel that gook underneath.

I wouldn't recommend exfoliating to harsh in that area, because that area is sensitive & painful. I am like you when I do breakout it is always cystic pimples that take forever to go away. Most of the time, I just leave them & just let them run it's course. I mean that's all you really can do, but I do some things to fasten the healing process. I like to do hot/cold compressions, use queen Helene mint julep masque as a spot treatment ($5 at Walgreens), regular skincare routine, & apply benzoyl peroxide to the blemish at night. (:

I get the same thing you do. I don't break out a lot but when I do it's cystic. It hurts but you cannot touch them at all or it'll make them worse and last longer.
I just continue with my normal routine, apply a spot treatment, and usually do a mask of some sort.
Also compresses are nice like Dereanna suggested

I get these too! I asked a similar question about a month ago, I was recommended to use an aspirin spot treatment, there are heaps of diy's to make it online, also honey too.
I found that holding an icecube on the blemish reduces pain (as long as you don't apply too much pressure) and reduces swelling and redness

I just posted a few days ago how I address cystic acne. Something I rarely get but when I do get a lone rebel I follow the less is better approach. Cystic is the hardest form of acne to clear out. Scrubs is the last thing you want to put on active cysts...causes nothing but further damage to the impacted skin.If benzoyl peroxide is irritating to you, you can also try salicylic acid spot treatment.

For pimples under the skin you need to use products with salicylic acid it's the only thing that can penatrate the pore walls , an benzoyl peroxide or tee tree oil will help tackle surface bacteria , also using a chemical exfoliater or enzyme exfoliater, you can try a product called effaclar duo, it has both salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide,

I saw a YouTube video about this and they say to use Vicks Vapo rub I don't know if you would like to use that on your skin though 😬😬
