Hi so I was wondering if my skincare routine is okay, I'm using two different face washes and my skin seems to be responding to it well but my skin has never been prone to acne ect
Morning:
Wash with cetaphil gentle cleansers and moisturise with cetaphil moisturiser
Occasionally I'll use a bb cream or tinted moisturiser and use some translucent powder (probably about 1-2 times a week)
Night:
Remove any make up with coconut oil and then wash my face with body shop vitamin e gentle face wash.
Then I use the vitamin e hydrating toner and follow it with the vitamin e moisturiser.
I used to use the vitamin e stuff morning and night but I found that my skin feels kind of too moisturised, not really greasy but if I touched my face a lot it would get greasy. I started using cetaphil since it is such a light face wash and I only need to clear the gunk of my face that developed while I was sleeping

I was told by my dermatologist that you shouldn't wash your face in the morning, it washes away all the oils and such your skin needs for the day. He said just to use a toner if I have to and a spot treatment in the morning

@Elizabeth...I'm married to a term and he never suggest that to his clients. Its so important to wash your face in the morning because overnight our skin goes through its repair mode secreting all kinds of nastiness (sebum and toxins). By removing it in the morning you are actually helping your daytime products absorb into your skin versus sitting on top of grime. It provides a clean canvas so to speak. I use to follow that mantra of not washing my face in the morning and the first two weeks my skin rebelled and I broke out terribly. For morning I just use a very gentle cream based non suds cleanser. And also as we get older cleansing our skin in the AM is super vital because the rate of cell turn over slows down which means we need to manually speed it up even further with a topical exfoliation product for nighttime and if we aren't removing it come morning the end result isn't beautiful.

@Amy...don't mess with your program if its giving you great results. When you start to stray that is when problems have the potential to arise. As the saying goes...why fix something that isn't broken.
