So I just want to hear some other peoples opinions on what's appropriate for the gym. I typically wear my free runs, pair of performance leggings,.. Then a sports bra. I have a long sleeve or a jacket on until I get there and tie it on my waist or hang it up. Is there a such thing as showing too much skin at the gym or what??

I'm not really sure of what is appropriate for the gym because it could be different with anyone but to me when I hear sports bra I feel like that is just a regular bra but for working out and stuff but also to be worn under a shirt like a regular bra thats just my opinion I have no idea if thet are meant tp be worn alone or with a top so I guess my opinion is invalid lol I like to wear a big t shirt and yoga pants because I'm plus sized and any skin I show is uncomfortable for me.

I think that is perfect. My argument to people who think I show too much skin is always that baggy or excess clothing affects my performance. I don't want a movement restricting type shirt, or anything like that! That's just my opinion, and I know there are people with different ones and who will argue back that you can buy clothing that covers you up but does not limit your performance, but personally I would prefer to walk into the gym dressed just like you said. Hope that helps! 😊

If you feel comfortable go for it. I wear sports bra under a shirt or top cos that's what I'm comfortable with unless I have that gorg abs. Lol. I don't care what other people wear. In fact, I get confidence on other people wearing cute gym clothes.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you can show as much skin as you are comfortable with, you know as long as you're not practically naked and are using common sense lol, and make sure it is for the right intention: not to attract male attention etc., but for your performance needs.

Some people are more conservative than others. I personally think what you said is fine. It's normal to wear a sports bra to the gym. I don't think there is a such thing as too much skin at gym.

I wear a baggy men's shirt think it's cute after the gym I just don't like the sweaty fabric on my body feels weird and uncomfortable,.. I just feel like if it makes your workout more comfortable do what suits you, but then I get looks like "who is she trying to impress"

I think it's whatever you perform best in and what's more comfortable to you. I like wearing a tank sports bra and shorts with my free runs. But if a sports bra is what works for you why not.

I personally wouldn't wear a sports bra without a tshirt over it since I feel uncomfortable with my body. but there are girls that go to the gym that I workout at and they wear a sports bras and spandex. it doesn't bother me any that they decide to wear that. In fact I think of it as more power to you for having that confidence! I don't see it as being inappropriate at all!

I wear just a sports bra all the time to the gym. I run a lot on the treadmill and I sweat like crazy no matter what time of year it is lol gross I know so a sports bra is just so much more comfortable.

I think it is perfect. I always run outside so I just wear a shirt and running pants. But that is because it is pretty cold here. Inside (so in a gym) I would totally just wear a sports bra with some running pants and maybe a shirt if you feen self concious or something like that.

I wear gym leggings, sports bra and a sports top.. Something to wick away the sweat (Nike dri fit or Adidas climacool). My gym isn't the kinda place you'd go in a sports bra without a top over it.

I wear leggings a sports bra and a tank to the gym everyday. It depends on the gym you go to if they will have a problem with you working out in just a sports bra and pants. I got asked to put a shirt on when I went to the gym in just my sports bra and pants. I was so embarrassed I felt it was totally in the norm to show up that way since I do a lot of lifting and my shirt really does limit my performance some days. Depending on what muscle group I am working on that day. So I would play it safe and wear a tank or whatever you're comfortable with :)

I would feel uncomfortable wearing just a sports bra or anything too tight or revealing at the gym. It's mostly men at my gym though and I don't want to attract that kind of attention when I'm there. Honestly the only place I've seen women dress like that to work out is on Pinterest lol. It's really cute but not practical for me, but whatever you're comfortable with.

My rule of thumb is ill wear a sports bra with long pants or a shirt with shorts. I feel like shorts and a sports bra is just too much for the gym

Sports bra and shorts or leggings
I get too hot when I work out with a shirt over it

I wear as little as possible when I am working out! I sweat really badly! So usually shorts and a sports bra. I function of performance wear is to keep you cool or warm, I really don't think it matters what you wear to the gym, your not there to look at people

Yes but remember people look at you... I've had a lot of creepy experiences with people at the gym

I personally don't wear a sports bra on its own because I'm not entirely comfortable with my body. however I always see girls at the gym who wear a sports bra with nothing over top and I think it looks great.

Where I go you see body builders working on their form in some pretty revealing outfits. I've gone in shorty shorts that are fitted and a sports bra. Nobody doesn't even give second looks. I'd take a general consensus of your gym and see what the ladies are wearing if you want to avoid any possible issues. I've never had any problems at my home gym but if I go to another where performance athletes aren't heavy users then I get the stare down by both men and women. Personally I don't care a hoot because I'm there for one thing and one thing only.
