Try bio oil :)

I don't recommend Bio Oil on the face, wouldn't want you to break out around the wound. I would suggest just keeping it clean.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I would honestly get an opinion from a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. You could also post the pic on Realself.com (cosmetic procedure site) and doctors will answer questions and could prob give some sort of recommendation that way.

I work here at a plastic surgeons office. You should use a little mederma CREAM please not the gel. Massage the are gently with it. I would also ask the plastic surgeon you went to what they recommend. They may have a different way of treating these things.

I'm sorry! I've only had stitches once and they were SUCH a pain! They hurts and got soo itchy! But as for scar prevention, I think once the stitched are out and your no longer 'scabby' moisturize a ton! With what product I'm not sure, it'll be new skin so something extremely gentle on it.

In so sorry this happened to you :( I would see a cosmetic dermatologist or a plastic surgeon for the best recommendations. But in the meantime, I agree with Demetria. I broke my nose- I was cleaning a toilet and the lid slammed on my nose and left a mark plus broke the bone and cartilage. I had to have rhinoplasty. The surgeon recommended Mederma for the mark on my nose and it faded completely. When I had C section years later, I used the same Mederma and my scar is barely noticeable.
Feel better!

Thanks so much girls! I really appreciate the help and well wishes. I used Mederma gel once before with almost zero effect, but I'm willing to give the cream a try since that seems to be the consensus. I get the stitches out on Monday. If it's not too gross, I'll post an after pic.
