So I recently watched a wayne goss video and now set my foundation with a tissue over a sponge and not with a powder but even when I don't use a powder my foundation is still such a cakey ness I hate looking at it. my pores become more noticable and even if I wear a moisturizing primer, or poreless primer. I do moisturize and exfoliate and it never looks like skin I hate it. now I have to force myself to keep my foundation on. I was wondering what do you recommend any products for my skintype even concealer anytging I have a few blemishes I'd like to cover and I thibk I'm combo I can be dry and then a tad oily. the foundations I currently use are shisheido dual balancing foundation, shisheido perfect radiant foundation, nars sheer glow, buxom show some skin weightless foundation.
my primers are too faced rx hydrating primer, tartes clean slate poreless primer, hour glass primers (both clear and white one)
I use nars radiant creamy concealer I hope this info helps abd hopefully I get answers

I think you should probably use a different foundation or primer.

Have you tried a tinted moisturizer or bb cream? I haven't used it but a lot of people like smashbox's bb cream (its a bb or tinted moisturizer, not sure) or laura merciers tinted moisturizer. Have you tried any pore minimizing products? I will apply my primer then use the porefessional where I need it. I like benefit's porefessional.

I wonder if the bb would look more skin like for you.

I havent really tried a bb cream because I have blemishes I like to cover and today I tried to use less primer to not add so much product on my skin but I did use my tartes clean slate poreless primer I haveca lorac cc cream I will try that out too.

My mufe HD does that too, and I finally found a way to stop it. I use a light bb cream underneath, a tiny amount as like you would with a primer , then I put a teeny tiny drop of maracuja oil. that fixed the problem for me.

I ditched foundation I just use primer then concealer on spots and redness and set with powder it solves the problem

I'm with Codi, when I feel that foundation isn't working for me I use concealer to cover my redness and under eye circles and use a foundation powder, it's a much more natural look.

I have a very similar skin type acne included (augh!)! My daily foundation routine: 1) I go through with a green color corrector, I let that set for 2-ish minutes 2) bb cream, I adore my bb cream not only is it great for my skin, but helps even everything out, I let that set for another 2-ish min 3) I go through with a stick concealer and cover anything still showing and let that set 4) I go over my face with a low-coverage powder (my favorite is Clinique)
It seems like a lot, especially with letting everything set, but I found that it really helps with cakey-ness because I can see where something is too thick or not blended and can work it out before moving on. If I am going to be out a while I use a primer by Mary Kay first. Hope I helped!

I think that you may just need a different primer._.

I think using a different primer and foundation would help. Estee Lauder Double Wear is supposed to be awesome for combo skin. Also what powder do you use?
