I'm in my early thirties & I'm starting to notice a little aging on my lips, regardless of my water intake and healthy diet. Some lipsticks go straight into the creases and makes them look worse. Any suggestions for keeping my lips hydrated with great color?

There's a thread further down the page about keeping lips hydrated under drying lipsticks. All the same suggestions apply: sugar scrubs, balms that soak in, wearing lip primers under your lipstick which will keep the color from soaking into the aging. I also have a lip pencil that's just a lump of wax really and that is great to keep lipstick from migrating into the fine lines around my lips. ELF, paula's choice and Too Faced all sell these.

I'm going thru the dreaded M and all the usual suspects haven't done much for me. I utilize a lip serum from SkinCeuticals that I apply twice a day before I apply any lipstick or gloss. I just became tired of trying to make the drying lippies to work so now I just buy lipsticks that contain more moisturizing components unlike my beloved MAC. Guerlain Rouge G's, Tom Ford (not any that contain shimmer as they aren't as moisturizing), Maybelline Creamy Mattes line, Milani, NYX butter glosses, Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy. I also learned that lippies that have a high shimmer content are also very drying and will highlight any fine lines so I've put those aside for special occasions when I know I only plan on wearing it for a short time.

I use Dr Graf Retinol lip cream and Isomers lip serum and fresh sugar lip balm and I can wear any lipstick with no problems , it's really the lip care that needs more attention.

Hi Tina! Rather than going for very dark colors, try out some lighter peach shades which keep those lippies looking full and supple. Oftentimes the darker colors tend to seep into those creases and "bleed" more easily. However an awesome lip balm (eos) and lip liner (mufe Aqua lip liner) (will prevent lipstick from seeping out). Btw have you ever checked out Bite Beauty's lipsticks? They are extremely moisturizing and contain super antioxidants which battle aging too! I love the shade in "cava".
