I wouldn't go all the way black. I would just say a choclatey brown, maybe a shade or two darker than how your hair in the picture looks

Dark brown is always a better option. Going pitch-black can look way to harsh, especially on people with a naturally light hair color or paler skin. You can always go darker, but it's crazy hard to lighten a shade that's too dark.

Yeah, there's a difference between natural shades of black (brown black) and pitch black (blue black). Sometimes you get lucky and the color fades to something gorgeous but other times it's kind of a disaster. Stripping dark color out of hair can cause permanent damage. It's always safer to err on the side of caution.
