I have hooded eyelids and its hard to use different eyeliner and eyeshadow styles. Most of my lid is covered so I don't know how to apply my eye make up. Any ideas?

Have you tried YouTube? I think its often a lot easier to watch a video where they discribe the looks step by step! I use it a lot to learn new looks for my deep set eyes :)
And about the eyeliner, have you tried to tightlining (Using eyeliner on the upper water line?) I love doing that, it makes my eyes stand out and my lashes look really full. And that way it wouldnt take up the space on your lid :)

Basically you want to blend your eyeshadow a bit higher and keep opening your eyes to see if it's actually visible when you're not raising your eyebrows. For eyeliner, just a simple line will look good, but I don't think a winged liner is doable (at least not easily) on a hooded eye. I often do my mom's makeup and her eyes are both hooded and droopy because of her age, and I've found that you can get a nice eyeshadow look done when you avoid highlighting a lot under your brows and instead use a matte brown to recede the area right over the crease. I too have hooded eyes on some days (I don't know why not every day :/) and actually I like to just play up my eyelashes, maybe with some falsies.

Here are a couple videos by Lisa Eldridge that may help you, one is for eyeshadow and the other is for eyeliner, and one by Wayne Goss for eyeshadow.

By the way, you have gorgeous eyes! <3
Hope I could help!

With practice and getting familiar with your eye shape you can achieve a shadow look you want with some tweaking when applying shadow onto your lids. Smokey eye technique is a hooded eyes dream and Cat liner can work as well you just have to raise it up a bit higher then most and play with the shadow to help the illusion by building it up a tad. :) It's never impossible it's you that needs to have the patience and practice to make it work, you need to find what works for you to get it down.

This is a long video, but it really helped me with my hooded eyes.

It covers a lot of issues that the others don't like eyeliner and false eye lashes. It's the Lawrence of Arabia of eyeshadow tutorials though...bring popcorn.

Jenny, the link doesn't work for me, but I'm sure I know which video you're talking about!
Is it this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2c9cUFa9mvk

YES! Thanks, Breeze. I should have checked that the link worked. I was going to add that Winona, you have gorgeous eyes! You have a lovely almond shape so none of the tips for droopy eyes in that video will apply to you, but she still goes through a lot of good pointers, I think.

Not a problem! I found that video very helpful too, I remembered how long it was :D but very thorough.

I have hooded eyes too. It is pretty frustrating. I watched a lot of you tube videos on it. There are a ton. I also took the time to head to my local Ulta and Sephora (different days) and had two "experts" help. They gave me really good tips and applied the make up while I watched, which was great because I got to see first hand. Good luck!! Play a bit and you'll get the hang of it in no time!!
