I am purchasing a new foundation because recently mine have been clinging to my dry patches. I am willing to spend a couple extra bucks for a very nice flawless coverage foundation. my skin is overall normal, but my nose for some reason is very dry. what foundation would work best for my skin? recommend specific spades? I am pretty fair [yellow undertone] thank you so much! ♥️

Qualities I am looking for in a foundation:
>goes on smoothly [am willing to purchase a new makeup brush or sponge if you have recommendations]
>preferably medium coverage
>doesn't look cakey and not heavy on the skin
>blends in flawlessly and lasts at least a school day

I have dry skin too :) here's my recommendations:
1. A Beauty Blender or Real Techniques sponge. Use it damp, it's going to add a little extra hydration to any foundation you use it with. Using a brush on dry skin can cause microexfoliation, which is why it would accentuate your dry patches. I NEVER like the way my makeup comes out when I use a brush. It always looks cakey, heavy, and dry.
2. MakeUp Forever HD foundation. It's amazing, medium, buildable coverage that doesn't accentuate my dry patches and looks like I'm not wearing makeup.
3. L'oreal True Match foundation. I'm honestly not sure why people are always recommending this for oily skin, to me it's much more suited to dry skin. It has really nice coverage, medium-full with a nice natural finish.
4. Australis Fresh and Flawless pressed powder. If you feel the need to set your makeup, which I always do, this is a powder that doesn't accentuate dry patches. It immediately makes your skin look more flawless, I put this on when my foundation isn't looking so great and it smooths my skin out and makes it look flawless. I don't know if you have access to Australis where you are, but if so, you need this
5. MAC fix+. This product helps me look less cakey, especially if I start looking cakey or powdery throughout the day, I spray this all over my face to avoid using more powder. This is a great product, I wasn't so sure when I bought it since I saw some girls on here saying it wasnt worth the hype, but I love it. It's also great to use to wet your brush for eyeshadows, it makes the eye shadow last longer too which I didn't expect

I just bought True Match from L'Or?al (may be called perfect match depending where you live). I've had to deal with extremely dry skin lately and this foundation goes on so smoothly. I moisturise, then use a primer and then apply the foundation with my fingers. I also set it with a powder. itsquite liquid and blends very well. It's buildable and doesn't look cakey. It has medium coverage. I really love it. I'm using the W3 shade and it matches me perfectly.

The L'Oreal true match or true match lumi. the lumi is more for dry skin, and has a dewy finish.

Loreal true match is not for oily skin I'll tell you that lol.
although I use it, I have to set it with a matte setting powder or else I look super greasy & gross.

I've already tried Loreal true match lumi and I loved it for the longest time, but it's now starting to cling to my dry patches and its a fairly new bottle so I don't think it's because the foundation is old.. I guess ill try the original one and maybe look into Mac as well!

I recommend the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the Dewy + Smooth finish which is targeted for Normal to Dry skin types. The foundation is about $5 and is available at drugstores such as CVS and Walgreens. I found this foundation to not stick to dry patchea at all and if anything, it hydrates skin and drastically improves the appearance. I wouldnt suggest the Loreal True Match foundation for you, because it will definetky cling to your dry patches. If the Loreal True Match Lumi clung to you then the regular formula definetly will. Maybelline Fit Me foundation have yellow undertones which some people complain about but it works with people who have natural yellow undertones like you. I suggest using a damp makeup sponge instead of a brush to apply this foubdation because it gives a natural flawless look to the skin which is what you want. I recommend the Real Techniques makeup sponge (its a orange egg shape sponge) which you can get at Ulta for $5-6. The coverage this foundatiin gives is medium and can be built up to full coverage if need be. The Maybelline Fit Me foundation has never looked cakey and never feels heavy on my skin. I hope you enjoy this foundation! :)
Additional Information:
Remember that you prep your skin properly before applying foundation. Use a gentle face cleanser twice a day, use a toner to clear out pores each time after washing your face and exfoliate up to 3 times per week to get rid of dead skin flakes. Make sure to moisturize each time your face and before you apply makeup. After you apply your moisturizer let it absorb into your skin and then use a face primer. I recommend the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer. Once you allow your primer to set, begin applying foundation. This will allow the foundation to look much more flawless becase you have a good base for your foundation. Good luck <3
