Tea tree oil for my acne??

Ok so I have cystic acne on my face and chest and it was gone for a little bit but now it's back and it's awful. I'm going back to the dermatologist soon but I wanted to see if trying tea tree oil would help. I've read a bunch of stuff and it says it works for acne so what are your opinions. I really want this acne gone.

I have the tea tree line from the body shop & I personally hate it. I have oily skin & it just dried the crap out of my skin & made me break out really bad.

If your trying tea tree please do not try straight up Tea tree oil. I have bad cystic acne and I used tea tree oil and my skin got worse. My dermatologist started me on pills and prescribed creams and it was a nightmare. I decided I did not want to deal with all of that and I tried a sample of First aid beauty facial cleanser and it actually cleared my acne and it works so well. I now use it religiously. I still get the occasional zits, I have cystic acne and nothing's going to completely cure it, but this stuff works wonders!

I don't have bad acne but I get the occasional pimple and when I use diluted tea tree oil it clears it up within a day. But like others said it only works on top of the skin.

My sister and I have tried tea tree oil for our acne and it worked for her but not me so it really depends :)
