I have been wearing strappy sandals for a long time since it's always hot and sunny here (India) and I mostly wear leggings/ jeans and now I ended up with horrible tan on my feet. The part covered by the sandal straps and above my ankle (rest of my legs) retains my true skin color whereas my feet lookes double toned :S.
It lookes so weird when I wear skirts and other kind of footwears:'(.
Can you help me with some home remedies to lighten the tan?

I don't know of any home remedies to lighten the tan, I don't recommend them either. You could use a gradual self tanning lotion to apply to the lighter part though. Just until the natural tan fades.

Try exfoliating and a gradual tanner like Shanae suggested

The problem with self tanning lotion is that then I have to apply to the rest of my body since only my feet are discolored:(
I will try exfoliating.

A gradual self tanning lotion is just a regular lotion that tans you wherever you put it. You don't have to apply it everywhere.

I recommend this from Sallys or any other beauty supply store, it's amazing.

Also, you can get it in different shades, light, medium, and dark. It's not orange either, it's the prefect browny tan.

You'll just have to wait it out. In the meantime, remember to use sunscreen on your feet too and don't worry too much about the tan, it's temporary.

Exfoliate! Our hands and feet lose skin the fastest so you won't be waiting forever. Just exfoliate your feet and use a sunscreen when you go outside to avoid more tanning. I also suggest using a fake tan.
