Alcohol denat is not one of the friendly alcohols (the fatty alcohols are skin friendly). So I can understand why your skin reacted in the manner that it did. 46% is pretty dang high.

These are stronger hun , Dr gross has a step one and two , two helps neutralize the peel which is better for sensitive skin , these are more potent and will burn.

I've tried them and didn't have any issues. I don't consider my skin sensitive though, but it is acne-prone. I'm sure if you have sensitive skin it could irritate it. I kind of like them as they don't seem very drying to me. It does say to use them 1-2 times per week to start, so maybe every other day was just too much for your skin.
