Every time that you're straightening your hair you damaged it. But I understand your problem, if you straighten your hair only for pleasure, I would recommend one time or two time a week!

There are ways of straightening your hair without damaging it overmuch. If you use a heat protectant, and make sure that you take care of it the rest of the time, it should be fine. Personally if I were to straighten my hair every time I washed it, that would be about 3 times a week, and I'd find that okay.

I agree with Hannah. Also. do some coconut oil hair masks and you'll be fine.

I agree with Hannah as well, as long as you're taking the proper precautions and taking care of your hair then you won't be damaging your hair as badly as you would be if you weren't taking the proper steps. When I know I'll be straightening my hair I'll do a hair mask to add some extra moisture (:

I always have my hair straightened and my hair looks and feels healthy! Like the other ladies said, just take some precautions and use damage repairing products. I also only wash my hair twice a week so that helps since I don't have to straighten as much.

I agree with Kat also! I only straighten my hair like 3 times a week since I wash my hair every other day which helps so much. I would also recommend investing in a good hair straightener. I have the Evalectric Hair Straightener & it's great because ig the plates on it aren't damaging to hair & it makes my hair look so healthy & nice. Although it was expensive ($250) I also got the lifetime warranty which I love because I can replace it whenever mine breaks!

Try washing your hair less. deep conditioning and masks will help. use a heat protectant. try keeping heat to a minimum. there's different ways to straighten your hair. you can do a (dominican) tubi. you wrap your hair around your head and hold it up with pins and believe me it works you should definitely check some youtube videos on how to do it. Good luck :)

Also, make sure you're using the right straightener! Even some of the more expensive straighteners that claim to be ceramic and safe on hair, are actually stainless steel plates covered in ceramic. PYT (pretty young thing) makes straighteners that are 100% ceramic, and therefore, MUCH less damaging. They claim it's actually good for your hair but I don't know that I'd go that far haha. Plus, they offer a lifetime warranty, so that's an excellent bonus!

I should mention that there are some fakes, so if you decide to get that straightener, make sure you order from PYT directly.
