Hopefully this is in the right category but I'm thinking about getting a small tattoo on the side of my hip so that if I was wearing underwear it would cover it. I want something like an infinity sign or simple love heart but I want something a bit more original. Any ideas? Also would I be better to get it somewhere else that isn't on the bone because I heard that it hurts way more.

If you're asking people for ideas for what's going on your body, I'd say now is not the time to get one.

I agree with Alli, a tattoo is a permanent piece of art that you will have on your body forever so it should be something that you really want and not something that people on the Internet suggest for you. If you don't know what you want then don't get anything until you're 110% sure.

I agree, but only partially. I had an idea of what I wanted but couldn't visualize it until I found the inspiration for it. For me I had a shitty past that I'm always holding on to and I saw a quote that sad "inhale the future exhale the past inhale the good exhale the bad" that was my problem I would forget to breath. I also have bad anxiety attacks all the time which makes it hard to breath. So I choose the word exhale ecause I didn't want a whole saying on me. I got it in the same spot your thinking. However, I do love it, I am getting it covered up because my e and x blew out because the artist used too much ink :(

I didn't mean that you can't be inspired by something that you personally didn't come up with, but being asked for an idea for someone else's tattoo with no rhyme or reason to it seems silly to me. I don't know, just the idea of suggesting a random tattoo to someone makes me a little nervous. :p
Your tattoo is lovely though, Raylene. I saw it in the other tattoo thread. Beautiful. :)

I agree with Raylene, even though you should be sure that's for you to decide but I don't think there's anything wrong with inspiration and ideas to consider. I have a tat on that spot and it did hurt and since it was lower it was sensitive but I would once again just choose placement on preference and don't change it for pain. I'm such a baby when it comes to pain, and although it of course wasn't enjoyable, it was livable. imo it'll hurt either way but once it's over its done and no more pain.

I'm sorry but I don't think you should get it yet, put more thought into it & really think if you would still get the same thing in 5 years.
As for the placement, that is a very painful spot. I have most of my tattoos on bones & I've got to say that's the second most painful spot

Awe thanks alli. I was soo disapointed after it healed and my x was totally mutilated.

I agree, if you have to ask people that you don't even know what you should permanently put on your body, you shouldn't be doing it

Well I wouldn't say "mutilared" lol, but I would be too, Raylene. /: The lace bird sounds awesome though!

You really have to make sure that you're positive that you want a tattoo and love the design you want. Because there is no going back. I would recommend, that when you have the idea of getting a tattoo, wait a few months, then if you still really want it, get it. That's what I did, and it's just to really make sure that you really want/love the design, as it's going to be on your body for life.
I have not once regretted mine either! :)
Good luck

I was asking for different ideas. I already know basically what I want. I said in the original message that I want something like a love heart or an infinity sign with a bit of a twist. I was just looking for some ideas people may have had along with the ones that I've found myself on Google.

My advice is to pay attention to other suggestions, this is going to be there forever and you really have to make sure it means something to you.
