How can I rid myself of these dark spots? They won't go away. I've had acne since seventh grade and now that my acne is gone the dark spots still remain?

Those are acne scars.
and whatever you do, don't put lemon on it.
I've seen many girls recommending lemon on acne scars but it isn't worth it.

I have pretty dark acne scars and active acne rn but I use this serum from paulas choice and it's a life saver!!

it's a vitamin c serum (you can make that at home. google it if you're interested) right after I wash my face bc it absorbs better that way and it lightened my spots so much. such a life saver!! I could post before and after pics if you want to see :)

Foundation just seems to make it more noticeable and I'm just desperate to get rid of them

I had a lot of acne scars last year and I used honey and it calmed it down, they weren't as noticeable.
plus they will eventually fade away.
I would usually just wear foundation to hide it honestly lol

I agree with Katherine to use vitamin C serums or dark spot correctors. Also make sure to exfoliate and use SPF so they don't get darker (:

I also agree with Les to not use lemon. It throws off the skin's natural pH balance and damages healthy skin cells.

I heard exfoliating with baking soda works.
and aloe Vera with tea tree oil is good for minimizing the appearance of acne scars.
also you can get a over the counter lightening cream.

Please don't use baking soda! That is a chemical that should NOT be put on your skin. Just use a regular exfoliator that you'd buy in the beauty department.

I have the same thing only mine are dark in some spots and super red in others I use ambi cream and notice a tiny bit of fading but then I just started using it so it may be to soon to say. I know what you mean about the makeup the more I try to cover the more they show

I've been using Peter Thomas Roth peel pads followed by truth serum vitamin c serum or Murad dark spot corrector serum and mine seem to be fading slowly but surely.

This will help: ( you can do one or all if you want.Exfoliate w/a baking soda & water paste. nutmeg, honey and cinnamon mask.
apply aloe vera gel or grape seed oil.
vitamin c serum

Vitamin c helped my acne scars get reduced quite a bit - I have photos in my profile of how quickly it transformed my skin - I still have them but they are far less noticeable than before I used the vitamin c serum and paired it with the paulas choice BHA exfoliant and made sure to wear SPF daily.

Use a light green concealer or use orange toned powder foundation before applying your skin tones actual color

Those are not acne scars. Acne scars are little holes in the face that like like tiny craters , what you have is blemishes I'm having a hard time also but I'm using the tea tree toner

Like everyone else has said they are acne scars.
