Good morning all,

So a friend of mine received a j cat eternal lip glaze from her makeup artist for her wedding. She was told it was a high end product, however I found them on their website for $2.99.

Anyways, does anyone know the quality of these products? Can be bought in local stores? Have any of you ever used these products, if so what do you think about them?

One of my girl friends got one of their gel eyeliners in a beauty subscription box. She gave it to me because it was blue. When I tried it out it ended up smudging and fading quickly :/
I have seen their stuff in a local discount pharmacy, along with some other brands. I'm hoping they have some sort of a gold mine product. Ill definitely ask Alma because she is the Queen of the Hidden treasures!

Lol Kitty Yes I know where it's sold here in SD ;)J Cat has been sold for years in little clothing stores and at swap meets. You can also find them in stores that sell 99 cent jewelry and such, like discount stores, like sunny's fashion store or June's shoe store, you know off the wall stores.J Cat is a regular line just like Nabi cosmetics It's small and trying to get the line name out there. It's a hit and miss product line not quite up to par but I'm sure it will be heading in that direction.

Thanks Alma! I was just checking out swatches and reviews, it seems like their lip products are pretty cool. They have their own versions of Lip tars, I may go and get one that's a dupe color or similar to my OCC Liptars and see how they perform! I have also seen some mention that their lipglosses are good and compareable to the MAC lip glass. I hope there is some gold in their line.

I haven't used their lip products but it would be fun to put it to the test to compare. Their felt pen liners are ok, the J Cat product's pretty much run like Nabi which have amazing lip liners and blush, also klean color cosmetics which have great colored liquid liners, lipsticks, shadows if you like bright colors. If you ladies find those in small stores as well, you must try those out to or go to their sites and look them up. :) hidden treasures are nice to find.

I have a shadow, it's a peachy gold color and I love it. It's a staple for a "nude" face for me. I just got a gel liner from them but I haven't tried it yet.

I have their lip paints and I love the darker reds however I am very disappointed with the consistency of the lighter purple and pink shades, they are extremely oily and slide right off my lips :(

If you girls like I can try and do some swatches later and show the difference between the darker colors and the lighter ones so you can see how oily the lighter shades are

I've seen j cat lip paint things at my local ulta, I hqve a shadow from then and gel liner I got in my ipsy bags but havent tried them out yet

I saw this brand at a individual beauty supply store and I saw the OCC lip tar dupes that they have, but I didn't buy one because I didn't know if they would perform well

I think ulta got rid of jcat.
they were selling them for $4.99 in the spring/summer when they dropped the lip tar dupes..

jcat is definitely NOT high end.
that Makeup artist was definitely wrong for that lie!.

I have several of the wonder lip paints and a couple glitters and lipsticks.

I'd never do liner or eye shadow pallets. that's just me..

they are decent, some are oily and you have to "shake it like a salt shaker!" lol.
but some are supp b like occ lip tar and others are like stained gloss , supposedly.

I'm not putting down my lip tars for any such dupe...

Thank you Naomi for your input as well. Yea I'm unsure why the artist would lie to her. I guess maybe she thought she would seem less professional using lower priced items? Personally I think she looks less professional for lying.

I completely agree.
I love sharing inexpensive finds with my clients and friends..
I think its better to be versatile than be stuck on a brand name.
