Every time I wear a full face of makeup I've realized it makes my face a lot more oily than if I wear minimal or none. It doesn't only happen with one foundation but all of mine whether it's liquid, mineral or airbrushed. I do have naturally oily skin but I was wondering if makeup actually makes face more oily and if so what the reason behind it is.

It can. You should blot after applying your foundation to get all the excess oils/product off

Agree with renay
and you can use a matte setting spray/powder

I think if you're not using a primer or not using foundations for your particular skin type then your skin's oils just mix with the product and make you look even more oily.

I agree with what everyone else said. It really depends on what products you are using, how you are using them, and what your skin is like. I have naturally oily skin as well and when I wear my foundation it is less oily than when I don't wear makeup.

Renay when you blot after the foundation does it take the foundation off? Or how does it work?

Blot face a few minutes after application of your daily moisturizer, then apply foundation. After a few minutes passes with your foundation then blot one more time before applying setting powder. This should decrease oil breaking thru.

No, I just take a tissue and softly pat the areas I get most oily. You'd be surprised how much oils/product comes off! Haha. I also blot my face before application if I applied primer or moisturizer

I find it depends on what products you use. when you weae minimal to no makeup your skin is able to breathe. piling on makeup can cause the skin a bit of distress and it wants to produce more oils. blotting is good as well as carrying around some mattifying powder. try applying jojoba oil under your makeup. over time it's supposed to reduce the excess amount of oil that your skin produces

It depends on the makeup your using and how thick the products are or how much your using. always use a face primer such as the too faced primer that's oil free and any oil free products you can get your hands on

It also depends on how much you wash your face as well. The more you wash your face the more oily it'll get.

I think the reason is because you are using way too many products. when looking for a foundation, make sure you purchase one thats for oily skin. it also could be how your applying your foundation. what techniques do you use? after applying foundation, always set with powder and use a setting spray when your done with makeup. bring translucent powder or blotting paper to touch up during the day. using a face primer before foundation does help a lot as well. look for one thats suitable for your skin type like oil free.
