It's supposed to be good for oily or combination skin, which I have. I can't really recommend anything but I can say that I recently bought the physicians formula loose powder foundation, and it's not all that great. The oil comes through just as much as when I used a liquid foundation + translucent powder :-/

I find mineral foundation to be great for dry skin actually, because mineral products technically cannot be matte, they always have VERY FINE shimmer in them, it is undetectable but leaves your face with a glow and looks so natural :) my personal favorite is Micabella mineral powder foundation, you have complete control over coverage and can use a denser brush for a thicker application. It stays all day and doesn't look cakey when retouched :)

I've tried the Bare Minerals powder foundation and it gives such flawless soft skin. I don't know much about powder foundation but I know that its pretty great.

Powder foundations are great for combination and oily skin ppl. I love mac studio fix powder. I personally prefer liquid foundations because I have acne prone skin so it gives me more coverage.
