Hydroquinone is used for lightening scars or hyper pigmentation , the strongest you can get without a prescription is 2 percent. No, it's not dangerous but used incorrectly can cause more dark spots. You have to have to have to use sunscreen with it because it makes your skin sensitive to light.
Murad has a popular formula, but I've seen it in fade creams at the drugstore as well

TCA peel consist of trichloractic acid and its used to improve texture of skin, treat acne (not all types though), reduce fine lines and treat brown spots and age spots. How it works is that out causes the top layers of cells to dry up which results in peeling over a course of a few days. Underneath the peeling skin is fresh new skin. Sounds really gross but its a true transformation and the greatest results can be had with those with serious sun damage and melasma. The peels come in several levels...from light, medium to deep. Though it offers some pretty substantial results its still risky because a chemical peel is unpredictable. Plus, following the aftercare plan as directed by the dermo must be followed to a T. And a lot of people fail in the post-care...spf is a must and that's where people mess up their results.

Can TCA peel or glycolic acid be done at home?does anyone has any experience?which product should use for this purpose?

I do TCA peels on clients , no it can not be done at home , it needs to be done by a professional , you can actually give yourself a chemical burn , and hydroquinone is basically bleaching your skin it's caustic and can only be used short periods of time if you want a peel, please see a professional , you don't want to damage your skin.

Overuse of hydroquinone can cause the skin to become thin and brittle, in addition to added sensitivity to sunlight.
All of these things (peels, lightening) need to be handled by a trained professional in a sterile environment.

I live in Europe, and here hydroquinone is banned. It's a controversial ingredient, some sources say it can cause cancer while others say it's perfectly safe. I'm not an expert on this, just thought I'd share what I knew.
