I'm so excited, I got my very first tattoo done. It seems to be healing pretty well, it's not extremely sore and not red at all.
Here's my question, how do I deal with wearing clothes the first few days?
It's in the inner part of my arm and I don't want it rubbing against my body. Like, what fabric should my long-sleeved undershirt be?
Also, does any of you have any little-known secrets about aftercare?
Thank you so much!
P.s. It's a whisk, because I want to be a baker. Do you like it?

That's awesome. do you know that baby Vaseline? it's great to keep on the tattoo everyone I know uses it and it makes it so they don't even scab.

Okay thank you. Looking at the Aquaphor ingredients, it seems to be petroleum based too. I've actually been using pure shea butter.
I was just afraid with clingy clothes that it would stick or something.
And thank you so much, it helps with my life goal motivation!

I don't gave any tattoos but my husband has dozens so he would use aquafor on some a&d ointment and recently he's been eyeing the derm ink ointment right here on beautylish (he's been hinting he wants it everytime I get on lol) after it peels he would then use a non fragrance lotion to keep it moisturized and not to keep it in sunlight for a long time and to help it lastcand not fade is to put sunblock on it once its fully healed so the sun doesn't fade it. and when your not outside to let it breathe and not covered by clothing I think thats all the advice I have for that but I love how symbolic your tattoo is its so unique and its a great tattoo I want to get a lipstick tattoo because I want to be more than just a makeup enthusiast so that is a great personal tattoo to me :)

Very cute tattoo! You aren't really supposed to use Vaseline because it doesn't let the tattoo breath, you should wear a little bit looser shirts only for your comfort it shouldn't effect the tattoo though, don't scratch it at all and try to keep water off of it as best as you can, I used a&d ointment and then once it's kind of healed I used lubriderm it is great with keeping the tattoo bright and nonfaded.

Some people don't use anything, and leave their tats alone. I just use a&ad the first day then some in scented gentle lotion and leave it be!

Which after care ointment did the tattoo artists told you to use? Keep using the one he/she told you. For my tattoos I tape surgical dressings (cvs) if I needed to go out and take it off as soon as I got home.

Lauren is also right, I only applied Aquaphor once for two days and after that just left it on its down. Mine HARDLY peeled. I think it's better than using all kinds of crap

Thank you Ramsha, I'll be sure to check it out!
Lauren and Gloria, thank you! I live in Italy and a&d is not available here if not on Amazon, but by the time it arrives, my tattoo would probably be healed :)
Pattyshadows, my tattoo artist told me to keep it moisturized and let it breathe.
Thank you Renay, that makes perfect sense, I guess simplicity is key :)

I have my fair share of tattoos and I always use aquaphor or A&D. I prefer A&D for the smell, but not all people like the smell. Haha.

Sorry Amanda, my phone didn't show me your message when you posted it. That is very useful advice 😊
Austin, now I'm curious about this a&d! Thank you!
