ok so first idea that came into my head was that you should invest in a pot of lip balm (don't use Vaseline its a bit too moist and won't really allow you to apply lipstick over it)
yeah so anyway basically get a small pot of lip balm then just apply it a couple of minutes before you want to apply the lipstick to hydrate your lips and stop them from looking dry :) hope this helps :) x

I like the Body Shop lip balms... I suffered with the whole dry lip problem (like you) and these work really really well :) plus they come in suuuuuch nice flavours lol :) x

A beeswax based lip balm is best because it creates a barrier between the lip and lipstick to ward off dry cracked lips. Burts Bee lip balm stick should do the trick or good old Chapstick too. Just want it to not have a slippery finish or else it will cause your matte lippie to slide beyond your natural lip line.

Sleep wearing Vaseline on your lips, if still dry try Burt's bees the one with honey in it truly works well

Just put some lip balm (Burt's bees works well) before applying the lipstick.
