Winter Formal Help!!

I'm going to winter formal this year and the theme is Old Hollywood. I was planning on wearing this dress with some black pumps. The problem is I'm not sure how I should do my makeup! I was thinking something similar to Marilyn Monroe's signature look but altering it to fit my skin tone, but I'm not so sure how it would look with the dress. Can you please help me with ideas?
