Purples and neutrals colors would look great in you. I believe Physicians Formula has an eyeliner set for different eye colors, you should check them out. :)

i have brown eyes too and i usually put neutral eyeshadows with black eyeliner, but when i want to be original, i use these:
-green loose powder eyeshadow
-gold shimmer cream eyeshadow
-purple loose powder eyeshadow
you can also use purple or green eyeliner without putting on any eyeshadow, or just a bit of a neutral one.

I have brown eyes as well and I use a dark brown eyeliner, and light pinks and copper/gold colors for eyeshadow, but it all depends on the person.
