I have oily to combination skin for the most part. About 2 weeks ago a started using a new toner for my skin, Equate 'Sensitive Skin Astringent'. After 3 days of using this product I developed a rash all over my face and neck. At first my face and neck were very itchy and irritated. Then, little bumps appeared all over my face, and and finally I began to break out all over my jaw line and cheeks; my face began to peel like crazy, leaving my skin red and burning; mainly on my nose, cheeks, & mouth area. I obviously stopped using the toner, skin seemed to get better at first, but not really. I've been using Hydrocortisone to relieve the itchiness on my face. Tee tree oil soap. Aquaphor Ointment for the dryness and Antibiotic ointment for the peeling areas.Even made my own sugar and olive oil scrub, but no luck. The dry patches go away then come back. I don't know what to do.

If you haven't already gone to the dermatologist i suggest you go. It seems like you're trying to get rid of it so fast and using too many products and causing your skin to stress out. Continue using the hydrocortisone and antibiotic. It should help

Try to use a gentle cleanser and lay off everything else. Your face may need a break. It seems very irritated and its prob in shock from all the diff products

Cliniques dramatically different moisturizer. A little goes a long way so it lasts long, it's not made w/ any oils and works great. I use it twice a day morning and night. You'll tell a difference in your skin from just one use.

I'd agree with going to a dermatologist and laying off anything other than a mild soap until then? Clinques dramatically different moisturizing lotion has a decent amount of mineral oil in it so I wouldn't recommend it.

This may have been an allergic reaction or you may have really dried out your skin. There are too many products and your regimen right now. I would also lay off the scrubs as they can be drying. I would find a moisturizer for combination skin that is hydrating and oil free until you can see your doctor.

4 a first try going on a healthier diet u might not be getting enough nutrients but then try a gentle exfoliate and then a moisturizer :)

I have combo skin and whenever I get dry patches I will use La Roche Posay's Nutritic. You can choose between 2.5% biolipids or the 5% version. Either works fine for me. The good thing about it is that it doesn't make your skin look oily although it has a rather thick consistency. I use it very often during the winter but it's a little pricey so I didn't make it my regular moisturizer.

Use cocoa butter or Shea butter at night on your dry patches. Get on the oil cleanse method and exfoliate twice a week only. Also start taking an organic essential fatty acids capsule twice a day.

I get bad dry skin and the best thing I've ever used is aveeno cream, it's completely natural, cheap and your skin will love it. Don't use any cleansers or moisturisers that have fragrance because they will most likely make it worse! Also don't exfoliate too often as your skin won't get a chance to recover. Hope that helps you
