Ok it might sound weird, but I use listerine before I use shampoo.
I wet my hair, apply the listerine and rub it in through my hair. Then I apply shampoo and conditioner. I promise you'll have a minimal smell of minty-ness lol

My dermatologist recommended Clinical Strength Head and Shoulders. It comes in a navy bottle and it's a million times better than their regular formulation. You can get it at a drugstore or Target.
