So I've never had 'acne,' I mean I get pimples and stuff but I wouldn't say I have a case of acne. However I do have several red marks on my face that bother me immensely, is this reason enough to see a derm?

I would use a dermo as a last resort. My husband is one and he tells potential patients that when they come in for a consult. The money spent could be utilized visiting an esthetician which is far cheaper than a dermo visit. With an esthetician they actually spend more time with your skin than a dermo and for your situation a facial every six weeks performed by one you should see a huge improvement in your skin.
