I don't recommend wearing falsies until you're used to your schedule! You never know those crazy teachers who make you run around, playing that "sign your name if you've..." game. The outfit you have planned works alright. Don't stress it:)
I'm going into my senior year personally but just be yourself. Your style is probably going to change through out high school so don't worry too much. As far as hair, the picture looks adorable! Go with that(:

I don't see why you couldn't wear falsies? Yea you may not feel like putting them on every morning but I wore falsies all the time in high school. Just be casual your first day your outfit sounds cute but crop tops weren't allowed in my school. For hair I would wear it in a bun/top knot

I'm not in high school anymore, but that outfit would be banned in mine.. Short shorts weren't allowed, it was the fingertip rule, and any exposed belly would get you sent home.
Falsies is fine if you're used to them.
As for makeup and hair, do it however you're comfortable. If you love your hair straight, then straighten and vice versa for curly. Makeup wise I'd go from zero to full face from one day to the next.
Just do you. Nobody is going to remember your clothes or makeup in a month.

Those shorts would be way to short for my school too. They have to be finger tip length at my school, but hey, every school is different! Do whatever you want. Honestly, school will be over before you know it and other people's opinions won't matter. As long as your comfortable, that's all that's important (:

Honestly, do what feels right. By the middle of freshman year, you'll probably be bumming it (I was, at least) so I guess it just depends on you. If you want to go all out and look cute, I say go for it! No one will judge you...at least, they won't judge you anymore than they'll judge every other "annoying freshman". But if you want to go easy and natural no one will bat an eyelash either. I think I dressed up for my first day of freshman year, but sophomore year I think I wore sweatpants on the first day. I guess my advice is don't dress up because you're trying to impress anyone - because you won't. But if you want to because it's fun, then I say go for it and just wear something that makes you feel super fabulous. A black crop and high waisted shorts sounds cute :)

Be yourself sweety! I'm out of highschool now and I have to say...
Don't be too worried about how you look, or if people judge you because those people are irrelevant and serve no purpose to you.
Be modest, try not to show too much skin. Some is fine to an extent~
But what I've learned was that never ever skip class. I was very troubled in highschool and I felt the constant need to make more friends but it isn't about how many friends you have it's about the quality of the friends you already have.
I'm not saying to avoid meeting new people but, don't get carried away with trying to impress anyone~ at the end of the day, it's just high school ~~ focus on your future because I sure wish I did.

I honestly think for the first day even though no skin would be showing , I'd be more comfortable in a regular shirt and maybe even jeans just bc its less revealing and I'd be a freshman on the first day which is intimidating so I'd feel more comfy in something like that but that's just a help, if you're more confident than me (which you probably are) then go for it!

Tip from a girl who just graduated! by halfway through freshie year I couldn't even remember the first day XD and it's like that for a LOT of people! so, dress for you! not for people who won't even remember it in a month!

OMG funny story! So in grade ten when we walked into the gym first day orientation we got sat on the bleachers. First question the principle asked was "who's cold?" Now the ac was on a bit higher than normal. Over half the girls rose their hands. He called them all down and handed them XXXL mustard yellow shirts to wear. He ghen said, anyone who doesn't fallow the dress code will be made to wear these shirts. Dress code was: skirts no higher than an inch above the knee, and shoulders had to be covered so no short shorts, no tank tops not spaghetti straps and what not and no crop tops either. And guys had strict rules too no muscle shirts no ripped shirts and shorts had to be at the knee and no skinnies!! The principle said he doesn't need to know the size of package hiding in their pants (really funny as this is a catholic school) haha anyway, so yea keep dress code in mind. I don't know what this whole "running" around is, I was the same busy in each grade. I was depressed come grade 11 so I like didn't put any effort into my look, grade 12 I move to a tiny town and citied it up by curling my hair every day and makeup every day. But yea wear what you wear look how you look. And seriously!! Do your homework! Grade 11 I only attended 27 full days out of the year! Luckily my teachers loved me and gave me retro marks to get into grade 12'

Lol raylene they do that here too, but they were white and had "I dressed inappropriatly" and "I need to learn how to wear pants" and things like that written all over them in bright colors and had polka dots lol.

Raylene...that story made me laugh aloud. I grew up poor so back to school meant a pair of new shoes and having all the required supplies. At the time, I didn't appreciate it, but now that I'm much older, I'm grateful because I had to use my personality to make my impressions. I see so many girls who seem more concerned and stressed about school starting than they are excited about it. That's got to be difficult. Everyone wants to be liked and look their best, but it feels so fashionably competitive that many students (male and female) have anxiety rather than excitement. Many struggle with depression. I'm relieved wardrobe was a small part of school. Don't stress over it and be yourself. Trust me on this...

I am a high school teacher, so my advice is make sure your belly is covered. Otherwise wear what you like and smile. (I do not agree with the strictness of the dress code in my district, but everyone feels very differently about the human body, but I still have to enforce the rules, so I'd have to send you to the office in your described outfit). As a freshman, I would dress conservatively until you get an idea of what is and is not enforced.

Alex- I'm not sure if you were in a public school or catholic school, but I have noticed that there seems to be a big difference in dress code. Public school seems more laxed. My kids are in public (still lower elementary) but it's a k-12 school and some of the outfits I've seen the high school girls wear... WOW! But yea my junior high gave everyone shirts with the school name on them. In high school we had to wear our school ID on lanyards and if we forgot them we got sent to the officer for temp IDs and those were considered looser tags and more embarrassing than the stupid yellow shirts.,. Go figure haha and yes rozberry! I didn't have brand name garb to cover my body in, but guess what! I still had friends! Actually I think my school was just weird, because EVERYONE was friends with everyone. I mean there was the handful of girls who were super stuck up and snobby, and two guys brutal beat a girl in the religion hallway bathroom for calling their girlfriend a slut, and we had cops everywhere but yea, all in all we were all friends haha.

Raylene - everybody in Saskatchewan is friends ;) and I was in both actually lol. For elementary and the first few years of junior high I was in public, and then I went to Catholic for two years and back to public. I didn't notice a difference in dress codes, but if you wore anything "revealing" (and I'm talking a tank top that shows a bit of cleavage) you'd get dirty looks from the students, the teachers wouldn't say anything unless it was against the rules but the students would just glare you down. I had bright red hair and was called soooo many things, then I wore a tank top and all of a sudden I was a slut lol. The only friends I made there were boys who were nottttt in it for friendship and so I switched back to public school where I wasn't a whore and a bunch of rude religious terms for wearing a tank top lol. Honestly I think there's always the few who push the limit with the dress code, I was in cosmetology courses in my last year of high school, in public school, and we had a student salon that we had to run, so we had to dress professional to get used to how to be in a proper salon. And there was one girl who absolutely pushed the limits (I know one time she wore slacks and a professional jacket with just a lacy bra underneath - she got to wear the shirt a lot lol) but I think that's more about the students than the school. Some people think not listening to staff or pushing the limits on boundaries is fun and they want to seem like they don't care.

And rozberry, I was the same way. We would shop the Friday before school at supply places to try and get good deals so we could afford it all, and I got one or two outfits ar a thrift shop. Luckily I grew up in a poorer neighborhood that nobody made fun, but I always hated that I got "pitied" by the people who could afford new shoes every half year. The schools I went to (which in total were 9 of them) only 2 of them were fashion focused at all. One was in a richer area that I just happened to slide into the district, and the other was really small so they didn't have anything else to do in between classes really. I think finding a school that isn't like that is important, I have severe anxiety and the last school I went to half the students would show up in pj's. By the end of the year I was too, and at the beginning I would get up an hour earlier to do my hair and makeup every day. Nobody expected it and when you came to school with no makeup and in pj's people would just be like "you look really comfy" lol.

Alyx, I remember those days of when the Salvation Army was where most of my clothes came from...and vintage was NOT in at that time...lol My mom made some of our clothes and certainly repaired many I got at the thrift. I am the youngest of 3 girls and so I got all of the hand-me-downs...SO awful! I think my mom did a great job of making being poor about as fun as socially acceptable as it could be for a child growing up. I would find an awesome shirt with a stain on it and my mom would embroid this gorgeous pattern on the spot...I mean...I didn't have fancy school supplies, but I had generous friends and I'm grateful there was none of this social media pressure nonsense. Times were much more simple and the camera wasn't always watching. Good times.
