Okay so I'm going to the beach this weekend again and I used just regular tanning oil I was wondering if baby oil coconut oil or olive oil would work better then the real tanning oil?

If you wanna burn...the sun is very bad on the skin and could cause all types of skin problems in the long run...you should really be using an SPF which none of those oils have.

Ya, don't use oils, they can just burn your skin.

They won't provide as good protection as tanning oil and even tanning oil usually has very low SPF (below 15) so you have to make sure you reapply it every hour.

When I think of oil on the skin in the skin I think of the skin slowly being fried by the sun causing the browning lol
But I think those oils will work the same. I'm not 100% sure honestly

My best friend died of skin cancer at 19. No tan is worth your life. Stick to sunscreen. Laying out is soooo bad. If you want to stay young looking stay out of the sun. My parents were both big campers growing up and extensive sun damage is not pretty.

No prob. Jergens has great fake tanning lotions. And if you just enjoy laying out, make sure to wear SPF 30 and you should be good to go.

I'm with Aurora on the frying thing. It really is scary what the sun does to your skin even though I know it can look amazing:(

@Stephanie that is horrible but hopefully people will listen when you tell them...the sun will truly mess up your skin and just may kill you. I've seen enough leather faced women and then find out they're only like 40:( And they STILL think it's a hot look omg.

I am 22, I have had three different types of skin cancer, 4 times from sun damage. This last time, just this month, was melanoma. Thankfully I caught it before it became metastatic.
You do not want to have to deal with what I go through. Invasive scans and exams, biopsies, stitches, scars... Waiting for results, the anxiety... Wondering if this time will be the time that the cancer came back and spread before you could catch it. I go to the dermatologist every two months and end up having at least two biopsies every time. I acknowledge that I am paler than most non-albino humans, but still; UV radiation destroys everyone's cells.
I want to urge you to protect yourself and avoid my fate as much as you possibly can. Wear a high SPF sunblock and avoid being in the sun during peak daylight hours. Use fake tanning products and make sure you see a dermatologist regularly to keep an eye out for suspicious moles or changes in skin color or texture.

Awe Angela your soo pretty! I got diagnosed a few years ago with melanoma and have several scars on my back and chest from cancerous mole removal and skin cancer is the only cancer that can transfer from mother to fetus during pregnancy. So because of that my son had to get checked regularly too. We've both been clear since but it will always be on going. SPF my love!

The average life expectancy for someone diagnose with Stage 4 melanoma is just 11 months.
