I've been hearing from lots of people that baby oil is amazing for your hair is it true.

It can be a great source of shininess and moisturizitation, but there's a very fine line between it being helpful and it being detrimental. If you're not careful on what you do, how you apply it, where you apply it, etc. you can easily make your hair greasy and stringy feeling. so definitely look up some recipes for it to see how to use it for your hair! I looked up some ways and one of the best reviewed ones was to do an overnight mask. Using a washcloth and then your hands, completely and even saturate your hair (when it's dry, not wet or damp) and pin it up. Go to sleep and dream happy dreams. Wake up and give yourself a little extra shower time because you most likely will have to shampoo more than once. And skip the moisturizing/rich conditioner so your hair isn't weighed down. And Ta The! Shiny, Healthy hair.
Keep in mind that the ladies who did this are of Indian decent and have very thick strong black hair. So your hair might react differently. I hope I helped! Xx

No it is not, I used it when I was in high school because a friend told me it work wonders, my hair was shiny but it also damaged my hair. Baby oil contains mainly mineral oil which can be harmful to hair. this link has a lot of info on it.

OMG! I used baby oil as a hair mask back in junior high. What a dang mess it was. I can't believe its going around once again. It made my hair super stringy and it took several shampoo washes to fully remove it...especially from my scalp. It also attracted a lot of dirt so by the end of day my hair looked dull. Took a month for my hair to look like HAIR again. It was gross.

Once I accidentally applied baby oil instead of shampoo and it was a huge mess! I tried a lot to wash it off but it was still greasy. I don't think it worths :(

Personally I would skip the baby oil and use either coconut oil or olive oil. I have never tried baby oil but I have had success with both coconut and olive oil.

Baby oil actually contains petroleum, just like Vaseline, and just like how Vaseline shouldn't be used to moisturize your skin, baby oil shouldn't be used in your hair.

I wouldn't I did it in high school once and my hair was oily for days I had to get a clearing treatment to get rid of it. I would never do it again

Ya that's what I was afraid of. I had the same experience with baby oil as others have but with my hair being so thin and fine I thought it was just me. I've heard of women with thick coarse hair (normally of Indian decent) that use this all of the time and says it helps them immensely. I suppose for other hair types we're just not that lucky lol.

Maybe only using it on the ends would be best...
