Lately I've been doing a great job at keeping my hair healthy and strong and therefore it's growing faster than it has in my entire life. One of the things I stand by is not using products that have alcohol in them, or at least not in the first 10 when listed on the product. I've been hearing great things about Sexy Hair and It's a 10 hair products but I'm downright scared. Anyone used these and can tell me if its worth the hype? I have naturally curly, thick hair. I relax it cause I like my hair straight.

I have thick, curly hair as well. It's a 10 worked great upon application, but after it dries my hair frizzes up horribly. The alcohol in it does no favors for our hair type.

I'm not sure how it does with relaxed hair, though. I'm fighting the urge to chemically straighten my hair??

I love it's a 10 my hair it defines my wavy hair and leaves my hair soft. Another product I forgot that leaves my hair smooth and shiny it's from sally's beauty it's Hawaiian Silk alcohol it's the 7th ingredient. My all time favorite that I always recommend its the AG fast food leave on conditioner ( 3rd ingredient is alcohol).

You have to remember that not all alcohol is bad. There are fatty alcohols that are perfectly fine for hair. First 10...it did nothing for my hair other than make it feel rough and frizzy. Never tried Sexy Hair so I can't voice any thought about that line. If you have relaxed hair I would avoid anything with drying alcohols.

Safe fatty alcohols (these are also found in skincare as well):
cetyl
lauryle
stearyl
cetearyl
oleyl

Thanks ladies! The one SexyHair is cetearyl. I usually can smell the alcohol but I can't in this one so I used it. My hair did feel smoother and I didn't need to use as much product. I'll give it a try for longer and let you beauties know. I didn't use any heat until the next day and very low heat. I read somewhere that letting your hair rest after a wash without heat for 24 hours makes it stronger. I'm sure it's just one of the many myths of longer, stronger hair. I'll try just about anything. Lol.

I like it's a 10. I have very straight hair with some damage on the ends due to coloring. It makes my hair very smooth and soft. I tend to use it when my hair feels extra dry.

DevaCurl has amazing products! I never have the desire to even try anything else! It's completely sulphate free - so, beware, the shampoo doesn't lather! It, instead, feels like I'm using conditioner to wash my hair with! Then I use the conditioner, which smells so good! The styling products are mild, so the gentle shampoo can remove them. It would be difficult for this shampoo to remove the harsh products from another line. Curly hair is different than straight hair - it's dryer and need different kinds of products. The developer of DevaCurl, Lorraine Massey, has curly hair herself and understands these needs. She's also written a book called "Curly Girl" and she has video tutorials. Curly girls, please learn to love your curls - after decades of chronic blow drying, I've learned to. My life is so much easier now and my hair is healthy and beautiful!
