I used baking soda and a dash of lemon juice. Don't use a lot of lemon juice tho cause it's bad for your teeth. Just put a bit on your tooth brush and brush your teeth with it after tooth paste. It should work after a few days.

Be VERY careful about the diy teeth whitening, because most of the products people will recommend will eat away your enamel, which you can't fix or grow back, just wanted to warn you! But some things you can do to prevent stained teeth are drinking through straws when you drink anything but water (especially soda and orange juice) :) and I know you said not to recommend anything you could buy, but next time you go to buy a new tube of tooth paste, get the Colgate whitening, I think it's about the same price as the rest of the Colgate tubes :)

Baking soda and lemon really are not safe for your teeth and will wear away at your enamel no matter how little you use. However, don't be self conscious, the only people who have perfectly white teeth are those who get their teeth whitened. Everyone has some staining on their teeth :) but please be careful, wearing away your enamel will cause so many dental problems you won't believe it, not to mention it will cost loads to get it all fixed. The best idea is to get a whitening toothpaste and do not forget to brush your teeth in the morning or at night. If you really want super white teeth, you can get whitening strips for pretty cheap, but please be careful and be kind to your teeth.
