Hello!
Few months ago I decided to dye my hair purple, then I went to the hairstylist because I wanted to get rid of the purple and get a balayage blonde/brown color. When the hairstylist bleached my hair this turned out green at the end (I guess because of the purple) then he applied 2 toners to get rid of the ugly green and he actually managed to turn it into a grey/sandy blonde which I love.

My problem is that now, after like one month since he dyed my hair, the green starts to show again at the ends which is freaking me out so if you dealt with this before I would appreciate if you could help/ advice.
English is not my first language so I do apologies for any mistakes.

I've had blonde hair that turned green shortly after dying it as well and my original hair color is black - I've learned that blonde on black hair is difficult to get right - even for a professional - but what I ended up doing was buying some brunette semi-permanent ammonia free dye and dying my hair that brown color helped to tone down the blonde from going green - instead it turned into a dirty blonde color which was more pleasing to me aesthetically - so you can try that - also I washed my hair every day with the john Frieda brunette shampoo/conditioner to add even more brown tones to the blonde - this helped take away the green for me - but in the end I had to cut out all the blonde over time because it really damaged my hair so your best bet may be to just cut it out.

Have you been swimming? My family has a lot of natural blondes and their hair turns green from chlorine. I don't know if that happens to dyed blonde hair or not. But I know they have to use some sort of special shampoo to get the chemicals that turn their hair green out. I don't know if that helps at all but I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw the idea out.

Thank you ladies!
I heard about this, chlorine can turn your hair green, but that is not my case. I actually had purple hair before and when the stylist bleached my hair instead of yellow tones it turned green at the ends... I don't really want to dye it with a darker color, I heard about putting ketchup on your hair to get rid of the green, but never tried it, it sounds a bit crazy I know :)

Sabrina raves about ketchup 😏😉 haha but yea maybe just go back to the stylist and get him to tone it again or go to sallys and buy the toner he used.

My ears where ringing ;) Its true, ketchup can really take out the green in blond hair! I tried it several times! You have to keep it in for a couple of hours and you need to do it more then once... and it smells like warm ketchup... But it really really works!

I am so glad to hear that! I'll definitely try the ketchup trick tomorrow :D
For some reason I thought that would only work when you got the green from the chlorine? Will it work in my case Sabrina? :)

Mine wasn't from chlorine so I think it will, but of cause I can't promise you anything! But hey it's a cheap fix if it works ;)

The red from the tomato cancels the green in the hair. Any red pigment will do the trick (a red toner, tomato paste, ketchup, pasta sauce, etc.)

From experience I know ketchup works also what Diana T, that's what I did when I stopped using toner to get gray hair.

Toner doesn't last for more than a few weeks so it's right on track to be due for another session.

Unfortunately ketchup did not make any difference for me :( I tried few times and left it on for loooong period (3 -4 hours) but nothing :(
What toner should I use?
