I'm trying to get a cute/messy bun hairstyle. Any tips on how to do it good?

They work best on 2 or three day hair, use a dry shampoo or texturizing spray before and make sure your hair has a little wave to it! Also after its up pull some wispy hairs down to frame your face. Good luck!

Don't put too much effort in, that way you will achieve the messy and effortless look. It works best on dirtier hair like Anna said and also I like to pull little sections of my hair at the front out to make it look even messier.

The way I do it is doing a pointy tail and then I'll start scrunching up the tail till I get to the top then I'll tie it while messy :)

Literally just stop trying too much. I basically just scrunch up my hair at the back of my head, wrap a bobble around once and pin down. That's it.

When you are about to do your bun, tease your hair, mostly at the roots of your hair! If you have naturally curly hair like I do, don't tease it as much because it gets too heavy on your head & falls out! Also if you have really thin hair, try use a donut bun and wrap your hair in it! They sell those at Walmart for like $3 (:
