What is a beauty blender? I'm aware it's for the application of face make up, that's all. I noticed in some videos, women use a brush. Using the same foundation as me, women are getting a much cleaner look. Help me out?

It's a makeup sponge, not a brush. Most people use it damp, bounce it into their foundation, and then bounce the foundation onto their skin (:
Here's a link to the Beauty Blender website so you can learn more http://www.beautyblender.com/

It's best used while damp, run it through running water and squeeze out water. I do find that it gives me a more natural finish.

Ahhh...I love it, but it's a glorified sponge. I think the Real Techniques is an affordable dupe. I have both and for me work equally well. It certainly absorbs more product than a brush, but I like the finish. I find certain foundations work better with fingers or brushes, but I really love the ease of application and even finish a beauty blender gives.

Thanks girl! Alexis I will check out the website. I use Loreal tru match. I love the foundation, and I watched a woman's video on YouTube, she used that foundation and a brush. What's the advantage of a brush?

It might also be the skin type that made the outcome different, or the use of primer. Isn't Loreal true match more for oily skin types? I'm not sure. what's your skin type?

I was told it wouldn't be too bad for a combo skin. Which is what I have. It's the best foundation I've used. I've only ever used a sponge to apply and sometimes it looks better than other days. On the bad days I look cakey with very little foundation

Do you think your skin might be dehydrated? I had your problem not too long ago until I used a skin care that's suited for my skin type and now I don't have a cakey finish to my foundations anymore.

I don't believe so, I keep it moisturized. Haha.

I think it's great to blend out harsh edges once you've already applied your foundation. I don't have the original, just a dupe and I gave it to my mom since she wears foundation and I usually don't. It really helps her because she's very far sighted and she can't see what she's doing when putting on her makeup...if she used a brush or her hands, it would look dreadful but with this, she gets an even application!

Yea I agree with some of these comments. I have a plain beauty sponge for like $4 and love it. The beauty blender is so overpriced and its realy just a sponge
