Alright so I'm at my wits end with doing nails myself. I have tried very good brands different colors, top coats, all of it. No matter how long I wait to do something, my nails ALWAYS end up smudging! It's so frustrating because I want to be able to do this myself without having to go to a salon every time. Any suggestions?

Thick nail polish and/or too many coats that aren't dry will always smudge unless you're going to sit around and do nothing with your hands for quite awhile, even then it'll still be prone to smudging. I suggest doing one coat, even if it's patchy or streaky looking on the nail and then waiting for it to dry, then doing another, letting it dry, and doing another if you must. When I do use thick nail polish, I use the ice cold water method and it works perfectly. It's time consuming. I stand there with my hands in water for at least ten minutes to ensure that the polish hardens up. Always make sure you have enough time when painting your nails. That's key. To me, the brands are nothing but a name. I use nyc, sinful colors, opi, finger paints and a few others.
Just a little extra, if you're ever looking for a matte top coat, go with nyc, the rest are terrible.

Maybe you're applying too much product? If there's too much nail polish being applied, it never fully dries... You should be putting VERY thin product and in layers, when you layer let the polish FULLY dry each time.

Thank you guys! I do mine in layers but I don't think they were thin. That must be the main issue! Thank you guys! @Shanae I've actually bee looking for one so I'll try that! Thank you guys again!

If you still want to go with thick layers, I would suggest Rimmel London's quick dry ones. One coat is enough for them, darkest to lightest it covers the nail evenly :)
also even though it's quick dry, I like to apply quick dry top coat too :)
