Hi!

My foundation always slides off my face after about two or three hours and becomes disgusting. It's weird because I have extremely dry skin (but I take care of it, no dry patches, etc). Would a setting spray or a primer help me?

Around my eyes, this happens after only 30 minutes to one hour, even if I power, if creases and becomes cakey.

Do you have any idea about what I could do?

Hmmmm...there was a moisturizer I used to use that didn't work well with my various foundations. Gave the same outcome that you shared. It was too emollient...the moisturizer that is. What moisturizer and foundation are you using?

Around the eyes...I find that if my eye area isn't hydrated it would crease on me fairly quickly so eye cream application is my best friend. Another cause of creasing...applying too much concealer and powder. I apply a very thin amount of concealer with a brush and then using my pinky finger I blend it out.

I need loads of concealer because of my very bad dark circles. That doesn't help.

I used a variety of moisturizers. All with the same results. Clinique Youth surge, mainly and lately Kiehl's Rosa Artica balm, which is amazing. As foundations, I love liquid ones, but they don't work on me. Bobbi's serum foundation is a catastrophy, L'oreal nude magic not much better, now I'm trying the Bourjois healthy mix serum for the first time so I don't know yet. Bobbi Brown stick foundation works but only in summer, it's too thick otherwise. Bobbi Brown long wear also works but makes my face flat and I prefer dewy finishes. What can you advise?

For the eyes, I have yet to find a concealer that works for more than an hour. Finding one that would actually cover the purple was a huge challenge already, but I finally managed!

Dermablend for concealer might be a better choice for under eye area as it's highly pigmented and requires a less is more approach. You might also want to look into getting a corrector to apply before concealer. Dewy foundation...I like Dior Star foundation. Have you checked out MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation? The finish is beautiful. Sometimes I don't even set it with powder because it makes my skin look like skin.

I know it sounds counterintuitive for dry skin, but have you tried a powder foundation? I am also very dry and when I get ready for work, I always use BareMinerals Ready foundation. I don't buff it but rather swipe and/or pat it onto my face with a flat brush (it's their brush and I think it's called precision) depending on the level of coverage I want. Another friend of mine with dry skin also uses a powder foundation- from givenchy.

I also agree with shelley's comment about too much concealer causing slipping/creasing. I've never tried dermablend but maybe try that or try 'baking' your concealer.

A good drugstore option is the maybelline dream mousse cream foundation- you can apply it with a brush or beautyblender.

Lastly, a tip I learned from Jaclyn Hill is apply your under eye concealer from the outside towards the inside to prevent creasing.

Thank you so much. I will try all of that. I already have a corrector though and bare minerals isn't in my country, but next time I see it somewhere I'll try it!

By the way, the healthy mix serum foundation did last all day and was looking better than the long wear foundation from Bobbi Brown because it looks more like skin! I am very pleased.

Yay! I wasn't happy with Bobbi Brown Long Wear Foundation after the reformulation so I'm glad you're happy with the Healthy Mix Serum foundation.

Why are you not happy with it? Despite all, it's one of the only ones that stay put on me.
I was matched the wrong shade for Moisture rich and they agreed to take it back and exchange it. I'm not sure if that one would hold on me but they said it probably wouldn't and advised the long wear after the serum one failed. What do you think about the skin foundation?

I got a sample of the skin foundation. Let's see!
