Hey girlies! I have curly hair. I don't mind it. The part I don't like is the frizzy part. Therefore making me have to straighten it. Then it gets damaged and it stops growing. PLEASE HELP. Oh and I have to straighten it every night for school cause my hair gets too greasy if I don't take a shower every day!

Try using Moroccan argan oil.

You will have to stop washing your hair everyday, it make take a couple of weeks but you will see improvements and your hair will get use to it. Using an oil on damp/dry hair will help restore the health but while on the routine of not washing your hair everyday, only apply the oil to the ends of your hair. If you want to wear your hair curly try a moose or a texture spray, there are many products dedicated to curly hair and maintaining the particular type of curl, you just have to find what works for you.

Cut your split ends off. Sleep in either a loose braid or bun held with a non-binding, silken scrunchie and try using a silk (not satin) pillowcase.
I think you will find the deep conditioner and this Hairdressers Invisible Oil by Bumble and Bumble leave in spray is pretty bomb.

You can also use a cotton pillowcase and wrap your hair at night. The beauty supply sells hair wraps. Another thing worth noting...scarves can often cause friction and worsen frizz or create tangles where they hit the back of the neck. I wear mine behind my collar for that reason some days. As for your hair getting oily, have you tried using dry shampoo on your roots?? Also, don't apply conditioner to yoyr scalp, but instead hair shaft and ends. Good luck!

For greasiness: you know how your hair never feels cleaner than when you leave the salon? You can do that at home. Technically, you don't even need shampoo (lots of curly girls skip it altogether), water and friction are what you need. So instead of putting shampoo all over and just mushing it around, put it just on your fingertips and go underneath the hair and just scrub (really scrub) your scalp and roots. Don't shampoo the length of your hair, enough will reach the hair shaft when you rinse, that'll get rid of any product residue. Just try to remember how your stylist really scrubs your scalp, and do that.

You can condition as normal, just avoid the roots and leave it in for 3-5 minutes. This would be a good time to comb your hair, while it is nice and slippery, to minimize damage. Fingers are best, but a wide tooth comb will work if your hair is long or prone to tangles. If you aren't already using a deep conditioner, definitely pick one up! Shea Moisture is good if you're on a budget. Devacurl if you can spend a bit more. Use it 1-2 times a week.

A neat trick I learned to cut down on frizz is, after rinsing conditioner out, part and start shaping your hair and getting it roughly where you want it while you're still in the shower. The less you touch your hair while styling, the better! And use a cotton t shirt or microfiber towel and scrunch the wetness out of your hair. This is not only gentler on your hair than a regular towel, but again, allows you to start shaping your curls without roughing them up.

As for styling, this is really a personal preference thing, and will depend on your curl type. For my 2c/3a curls that are quite dry, I first run small amount of leave in conditioner and then go in with a curl gel (both Devacurl). I diffuse it on the lowest and coolest settings until it's about 70% dry, and then let it air dry the rest of the way. Most importantly, don't touch them!

Now this is really just what works for me. Curls are fickle, and vary greatly from person to person. I highly recommend you check out naturallycurly.com and find out more about your curl type and how best to treat it. Good luck!

I also want to mention, I learned some of those tips while getting a DevaCut from a DevaCurl inspired stylist (they're all over, you can likely find one in your area) and the cut and these tips changed my life! I HIGHLY recommend a DevaCut, particularly if you want to wear your hair curly more often and reduce heat damage.

I use what SaraA suggests, mine is Pro Naturals Moroccan argan oil, a leave in treatment. After shampooing I apply this to the ends and partway up the hair before blow drying and heat styling. It protects against heat damage and it also adds shine, stops any frizz on my ends and I don't have any split ends or static.
