Ohkay, so I don't understand what's wrong with my hair!! I never use heat, never brush my hair while wet, I brush from the bottom up, use sulfate free shampoo and its a 10 everything, don't put my hair up in right pony tails, or anything that's going to damage my hair! I use hair masks and argon oil after my showers and before I go to bed, but only put it on the ends of my hair, and I trim my hair every two months or so. I have really bad breakage and split ends always seem to pop up?!! I don't know what to do to keep my hair healthy and growing to the best of ita ability. I drink water constantly and eat somewhat healthy haha. I even have a satin pillow case!! I just don't what to do to stop the breakage and even prevent it. Ladies please help!! I really need advice and its just killing me inside.

This may seem strange but it sounds like you're over doing it with oils and treatments. You can actually make your hair too soft and more prone to breakage with using too much of the "good stuff". I'd focus on cutting back a bit, and don't wash your hair everyday if you do or just cut back on washing it at least, and get a good clarifying shampoo as well or use Apple cider vinegar once to twice a week to help regulate your hair's pH balance.

Everyones hair is different, I have extremely healthy hair, and I do lotsss of heat style. I should have very weak fried hair with as much as I do, but I hardly ever get split ends, which is surprising how much heat I do use. I do use good shampoos, styling products, get trims often but really my hair should be bad considering all I do, but its not. Its genetics, some of us have great and some of us have not so great hair. What I would change is maybe try not brushing your hair. Although I have healthy hair, I think this helps a lot. Never brush your hair when wet. As soon as I wash my hair , I finger comb (barely actually), blow dry, start styling (w/o brushing), then once I'm done styling I brush my hair, hairspray and don't brush again. Obviously I will end up brushing if I took a nap or it was crazy windy, but I do know minimizing brushes does help cut down damage. I would not brush from the bottom up but thats just me. You may try to use a big wide tooth comb first & then lightly brush. Also maybe try getting it trimmed more often (I actually go about every 4-5 weeks for a trim). Maybe ask your stylist if there are some treatments they could do that might be more effective than just doing hair mask alone. Do you happen to color your hair at home? Box dyes can sometimes cause this, but it could just be due to genetics unfortunately. Also what other shampoos have you tried?

Hair rubbing on clothes or furniture will break it off too. Ponytails are good protective styles.

Do you shampoo everyday? Could be brushing your hair too much? Maybe it's too used to the moisturizing products you use on your hair that your hair relies on it now? Try using a comb instead to comb out tangles and then use a boar bristle brush to brush your hair. And try laying off the moisturizers for now and let your hair rely on its own natural oils. Maybe try this for a month or two and see how it works. And eat a good diet with proteins and omega-3. Lots of fish!!? I remember eating a lot of seafood this one time for a month and my hair never felt so soft and looked so shiny before that?

Thank you ladies so much for all of your comments. @Lisa I haven't colored my hair in probably a year now and I don't ever use box dye I always go to my salon. I also use its a 10 sulfate free shampoo and I only wash my hair every 3 days or so. Thank you Sarah! I use Aussie shampoo and its a 10.

It could even have something to do with your diet. sometimes you can do all the right things but a lot of what you consume in your body reflects on how healthy your hair is.

I try to eat as healthy as possible. I love fruits and some vegetables. I love eating fish and things when I can. So I guess I will just work harder and be more careful to what I put in my body.
