Hi ladies... I have a bit of an issue. I'm new to the "natural hair world." I've discovered I have 2 hair textures. Completely and utterly the most annoying thing ever. 90% of my hair is really coily. The other 10% is bone straight and will not coil for nothing. is this something that I just have to deal with? is there something I can put in it to help it? HELP! It's a big patch of hair almost in the front of my head. HELP ME PLEASE LADIES!! lol. Thanks in advance.

Honestly I don't think there's anything you can do other than a perm or a relaxer, to even out the other parts, but I don't know if that's worth it to you. I unfortunately have 2 textures as well, bone straight and ringlettes curls lol. But I think as long as you keep it moisturized, which is a huge deal with natural hair, moisture is kinda the key for everything, but maybe try setting your bone straight hair in twists or something that results in similar to your coily hair. There's tons of heatless hair tutorials for natural hair, and if you experiment with them you might be able to find something that helps balance it. You could also get a protective hairstyle like braids or twists, and let it grow out a bit and see how it reacts then. Sometimes hair when cut to short or grown long it can change the curls pattern.
I'd suggest looking at youtubers and community sites that are dedicated to natural hair, it'll help a lot more, since a lot more than a couple people will be educated on it. I'm not sure of specific websites or youtubers but I do know there are plenty :)

The back of hair...the underside is like that as well...different texture as well. It's wavy and not close to the tighter curls everywhere else. It used to irk me but I just roll with it. Alyx up above offered sound advice. I stopped following a lot of the natural hair beauties because I don't like how the natural hair community gets locked into these battles about hair typing to point where it creates this division (the good hair/bad hair scenario). Plus some of the more popular one's are doing sponsored videos and I question their ability to give true and honest reviews so all that being said just tread carefully with the YT natural hair gurus.

I have the same problem, but I haven't went through big chop yet. I just use protective styles (braids) like Alyx mentioned and trim the straight ends. When I wear my hair curly I do little Bantu knots all over and with the straighter ends I use a bit of Cantu curling cream while my hair is still kinda wet and it helps. There's videos on YouTube for Bantu knots and other styles as well

If it's just ends I would cut them off but if not try different styles to play with the textures what works out best for me is braid outs , twist out never stay twisted and Bantu knots frizz out of this world for me but those kinda of things are good for trying to blend

Agree with Chelsee if it's the ends just cut them off. And keep them moisturized since 10% of the hair is bone straight, you could grow your hair, trim tiny pieces of the ends, grow your hair again, and trim tiny pieces. I have 2 textures from pressing/ flat ironing my hair a lot. And some parts are straight and others are very very course and coily. It's almost gone but I make sure to cut off some every few months. Good luck!

This is actually very common. It's just some peoples is more noticeable. My sister has straight strands all over and has done 2 big chops, it just depends on the follicle shape.
We just don't notice it until going natural.

If it grows like that I just may very well be that way , I have some pieces that won't curl and some that won't straighten out , it just depends , if you don't wanna go though the hassle of twist and such you could always just throw a couple of perm rods on the patches and call it a day , especially if your hair is shorter
