Which contouring formula do you think is easiest to use for beginners?

Definitely powder! I find creams take a lot longer to blend and they aren't as natural, but they are still nice (: Maybe start with powder and when you are more comfortable with contour, invest in a cream kind as well because they are both amazing!

I like the Smashbox contour pencils. They're cream and so easy to blend. Not the most long-lasting, but great for beginners (I think!).

When you contour cheek bone area you only contour in a spot area not necessarily like you would apply blush. When you look in the mirror place a light a bit to the front side of you, tilt your head slightly down and you'll see your natural contour shadow and that will be your guide. Now you can just add blush nothing more if you have the complete structure or you can sculpt to enhance it just keep in mind you do not need to form those drastic line's you see everywhere you simply can just dot one spot and brush up ward with a clean brush. You shouldn't be able to notice a sculpting shade or finish the blush will work that in for you. :)

A powder form like the maybelline ones work grat with an angled brush on cheek bones down nose and on temples and maybe under jaw line.

I'm a beginner when it comes to contouring & I recently purchased Kat Von D contour palette & I love it. Even though they're powders they're creamy enough for my combination skin but doesn't make me oily either. It's very buildable so it's easy to go from a light to heavy contouring, I personally try to look more natural. I'd definitely recommend it :)
