Honestly, it depends on how much you're willing to practice. Liquid took forever for me to get the hang of, and I still have to be ultra careful, but I love the results. Gel liner is fantastic with a smoky eye, and it's easier in my opinion.

I used to use liquid but I've just started using a gel and I'm torn, o think the gel is much easier to use when going across the eye but it can be quite tedious getting the perfect cat eye :/
