2W2 Rattan seems to visually look 1 shade darker than Desert Beige, even though Desert Beige is a neutral and Rattan is a warm tone. But the next neutral shade looks way too dark. I chose 2W2 Rattan over 2W1 Dawn because Dawn seems it wouldn't necessarily be darker, just different undertone. (warm), Rattan is also a warm undertone but it is darker than Desert Beige. SInce you wore a neutral shade, I would personally try a warm shade over a cool shade when the next neutral shade is too dark. But all in all its trial and error. You could try buying Ivory Beige (a neutral like Desert Beige) and if its too dark, you can mix it with Desert Beige to get your perfect shade. Good luck!
