You should check out the Bite Beauty lippies. They have not only dark vampy shades but understated shades as well and brights. Buxom is my personal fave brand for lippies because the formula doesn't brutalize my lips. If you don't mind coming out the pocket and adding a few more dollars to the gc there is YSL. I can't remember the exact name but it's a LE shade with lip imprints on the bullet...but there is a beautiful nude shade that would look nice on you. Understated and it's not a matte lippie...very creamy with a gloss finish.

Shelley, did you mention before about your lip reactions to Bite lippies? It's the reason why I had to return mine when you posted that. I was afraid. Though I'm not allergic to any but I just want to avoid stuff like this.
Joana, I like Nars lippies. I have the deluxe sample from my birthday gift from Sephora. I like it so much that I want to buy one.

Mylene...it was the Agave Lip Mask that I had a reaction to. The culprit was lanolin. And when I contacted Bite Beauty to explain what happened no response whatsoever. So I haven't purchased anything from them since then (I even tossed out the colors I had in my collection from the brand). While I personally had a bad experience I don't refrain others from trying them out. As with anything you have to tread carefully.
NARS...I forgot about their matte lip pencils. Long wear time and sits comfortably on the lips. Now I want to pull out my lip pencil in Cruella...a nice deep red.

Nars Audacious are my fav lipsticks. they are a bit more then $25 but very worth it. Anna is a beautiful mauve color and Barbara is a nice neutral. kat von d studded lipsticks are good too, Lovecraft is my favorite. also check out lovesick and mother in the her liquid lipsticks.

Oh that's right it was the lip mask. That was really scary tho. Just reading your horrible experience, I got scared. Hopefully, they'll be careful about putting ingredients in.

I have two fabulous suggestions... give me more lip set. and Bite Beauty holiday best Rewind set.. first one if you like a little bit variation but not way to adventurous with lipshade! second one has a nude, rose, a kickass red and an eggplant color...if you love colors this is for you...I will post pictures once I am home!
