It's very frustrating that some countries are like that. I wish we could return products that we didn't like etc. inglot has a sponge out now that looks good! do you have inglot in Denmark? @Sabrina

It's annoying that drugstore foundations aren't sample friendly! What concealer and foundation are you currently using Alyx?

Haha no :( But we have inglot here on BL so maybe they stock the sponge :)

Catrice also has one too if you have that brand. I haven't tried it but I heard it was good for an affordable option :-) @Sabrina.

Right now I'm using the kat von d concealer or the tarte ceaseless concealer and a rimmel foundation that I don't recommend at all lol.

My favorite so far is the true completion by black opal or the Maybelline fit me , I like more of a full coverage and a matte or semi dewy finish.

I have 8 in rotation and that includes a mix of cc and bb creams. I'm almost done with my Bobbi Brown foundation stick. Everything else has kinda hit the half way point. Right now my go to has MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation. I've been pairing with the Strobe Cream (also by MAC) and I'm in love.

Do you have a favourite Shelley? That's an impressive amount on rotation. Would you keep track of when you bought each foundation so you know when it expires or do you judge it by the texture and scent?

Would you recommend those concealers Alyx? I'm interested in trying them...

I've never tried maybelline foundations Chelsee. The matte and poreless one looks interesting though!

Hi Rebecca, just wanted to tell you that I used the True match again today, and I found my old sponge and used that to apply it with, and I must say it looks much nicer today! So this is definitely a foundation that applies best with a sponge!

I would definitely recommend the tarte one, I see people who have oily skin love it as well as people like me with dry skin. The kat von d one, is iffy. I use it just for super high coverage areas, like really red pimples or if my skin got irritated and is has a bunch of red areas, which happens a lot. But if I apply to my very dry areas it emphasizes any dry spots I have. It doesn't dry my skin out, but pretty much my whole nose is always super dry, so I tend to avoid it for that and just build up my tarte one.
I do like the coverage better of the kvd, but with my dry skin I definitely couldn't rely on it alone for my whole face.

@Alyx what kind of coverage would you say the tarte has? and would it be suitable for under the eye area or would it crease too much? I hear the Kvd is quite thick and can slide around a lot but the coverage is meant to be excellent.

I'm so glad you are enjoying it better with a sponge Sabrina! I find really fluid foundations such as true match apply much better with a sponge :-) would you ever consider buying the beauty blender? I'm in two minds about it. The price puts me off and I can't imagine getting any better results compared to my real techniques sponge or my even cheaper sponges... what a dilemma for me haha!

Hmm hard question - I feel like the price is a little high for the product you get... Also I have heard many artists say it's not worth the price! But I wouldn't be completely apose to buy it at one point to see what's all the hype is about! I'm always curious when there's a lot of hype!

Yeah I'm curious too! plus I have a 5euro off any purchase at space nk so it makes the price a little bit better :-) I probably will buy it at some stage or just put it on my Christmas wish list!

Sad that you don't have Real Techniques Sabrina bc I swear I like the sponge they make better than beauty blender and I buy it by the 2 pack so they cost less than $6 each:(

Oh Angela I swear there are so many things we don't have that will make you more sad ;) But last week we had amazing news - We are getting Kat von d products in February!!

Good question! My Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo foundation lasted me 6 months - I ordered it in January and then again July. Not bad, considering it's only 1 oz and I use one squirt per application. Right now, though, I am using Cinema Secrets cream foundation. I bought it in September, so I've been using it for a month. I only use 2 swipes with my Camera Ready Quick Blend sponge ($6), so I'm estimating that this, too, will last me for a very long time. It's full coverage and only $16 so well worth it!

(By the way, the KVD IS very thick - what I do is put one squirt onto my hand, then use a foundation brush to place a few strokes here and there...then use a damp sponge to spread and blend.)

Do you have to work in sections of the face when using the kvd foundation? Is it easy to blend? I love the sound of that foundation plus the packaging is very nice! I'm guessing kvd foundation is a favourite of yours since you've repurchased :-)

Cassandra J.

Normally, it takes less than 15 minutes though. Since I am pretty fast when it comes to doing makeup!

Oct 24, 2015

Cassandra J.

Oh I tried a sample of the KVD lock it tattoo foundation before... Like Kat H, said it was very thick so I had to work in sections. It is a full coverage foundation. So, I started on the right side of my face, then the left side and forehead region. So you have to work pretty fast with this particular foundation type since it dries really quickly. You have anymore questions about this foundation?

Oct 24, 2015

Cassandra J.

The foundation is sort of easy to blend. But it is better with a beauty blender than a brush. You can work better with it.

Thanks Cassandra. I might try a sample of it :-)
