Make sure you go to a salon that's used to cutting curly hair. I went to a cheap walk in place because I was desperate for a cut and the back was over an inch shorter than the sides and it just went into one giant triangle even though she was trying to avoid that.

I wouldn't get too many layers it might make your curls stick out at the top and add tons of volume that you already have. I have the same exact natural hair as that and it looks beautiful in you mine is just a tad longer and yours is deffinately waaaayyyyy healthier. I would suggest straightening your hair or blowing it out straight and the curling your hair with about a 1/2 inch curling wand but curl it in a high up pony tail. when you let out the pony tail you will have beautiful burlesque curls. but I like sleeping with curls down and waking up to beautiful beaches wavy hair
