I have combination skin, for years I've been suffering with white heads now that I'm 38 it has gotten worst, I get them on my chin, nose, cheeks, and forehead. I don't know what to use anymore, I've done masks, I've tried products for acne, and all they do is give me a dry feeling after using, I can't afford a dermatologist, but I also am desperate to find something that helps to get rid of them. Hope someone helps.

I don't suggest you pop them as that can leave marks. After cleansing, use a toner and treatment lotion with salicylic acid. What type of masks are you using? They type of masks makes a difference. Clay masks are more for getting rid of oils and clearing dark spots. Fresh masks are good for hydrating parched skin. You need an exfoliating mask or a chemical peel. Something light and not too heavy. For your routine, you would start with dry, clean skin. Use the exfoliating mask, rinse, cleanse, tone, moisturize. If you do the chemical peel (available at Sephora), you would skip the mask, use a non-abrasive cleanser, use the peel pads, let dry, then tone and moisturize. Hope this helps.

Awwwww, thanks. It's a lot of work. Been breaking out around my chin on the left side. Nothing is working but I'm fighting it tooth and nail.

Skin too sensitive or just doesn't like it. I usually can't use any type of DIY products for skincare. My friend studied dermatology and swears that it's stress and from eating right before bed. She already told me to stop using my toner that includes salicylic acid and I see a big difference already. She might be right, so I'm glad she's not on here so I don't need to admit it. 😝

I appreciate all of your help ladies! Any masks you recommend from the drugstore? And what about a cleanser? My skin looks so dull, and dry in some parts and oily in others, I must admit I have been harsh to my skin,I've been so desperate to get rid of the whiteheads that I end up getting a wet wash cloth and have tried to run off those little suckers. I'm turning 38 this Monday and well in will like to start a new year of life with better skin.

I know you said you can't afford a dermo visit but have you thought about getting a facial? Its far cheaper than a dermo visit and they can take care of those pesky whiteheads via extractions and rectify the other issues that you are experiencing. That's how I keep my skin in check. I try to go once a month (about every 6 weeks) but my schedule is crazy so I'm lucky if I make it once every 3 months. Every time I have it done my skin looks and feels so much better. I go to Bluemercury for my facials and it cost me about $120 (that's including a gratuity).
