So I had a look into makeup schools in my area last night and found one that looked promising to me, so I sent them my email inquiring about it and I got a phone call today about it asking whether I'd like to go to the open day, I want to go however when I told my family they didn't take it seriously, just questioned my income and found negative things to say about it. I'm feeling a little deterred about it but I need some advise, will it be worth it? I've always wanted to work at a beauty counter or something along those lines and because of this I figured I'd better get a qualification of some kind and I thought it'd be cool to learn different types of makeup application like special effects and stuff. I'm just a little confused you guys? I feel like I'm not good enough to try haha. 😓

When people found out I was doing a diploma of makeup, I kid you not they just laughed at me. It's not easy when people don't support you , but at the end of the day if you are interested in makeup, beauty and that field, follow it. You can learn some amazing things through actually studying and completing the course eg. Airbrushing, spfx, photography makeup, etc. Not only do you learn the skills, it builds and cements your confidence. I suggest going to the open day, talk to the teacher and students that are there, if it feels right follow it.

Yes! ^ I think you should check out the opening day. I feel like sometimes parents like to be difficult lol, mine aren't happy with my career choices either. But at the end of the day it's your life and your happiness, so I say give it a go:)

It's all about your gut feeling! If you have a passion for it or if you feel like it's for you 100% go for it. Sometimes taking risks is what gets you places and you can't let what others think stop you even if it's your family because it's your future and if you feel like it's for you then it is and it really couldn't hurt to try I'd say go for it!
