I have a kind of combination hair type. My roots tend to get oily (not super oily though because I've trained it to go a few days without washing) and my ends tend to get dry and brittle. I rinse my hair in cold water which I feel like it's been helping with the overall health of my hair, but I'm really looking for:

> Shampoo: I want one that it gentle on the hair, sulfate free, but will still lather and cleanse the hair. I am not worried about prices.
> Conditioner: I want one that will make my hair appear shiny and healthy, but still moisturize the hair. I would also like it to be sulfate free!
> Hair Masks: DIYs or store bought, honestly doesn't matter to me. I kind of want a few DIY suggestions and a store bought one to kind of switch it up without spending a load of money on hair masks. I don't mind putting in the extra money if it's really worth it though!

If you guys have any more tips for overall shiny hair, feel free to share (; I was also wondering, how long do you usually go before washing your hair again? And how often do you use a hair mask? Lol. Just a few questions I was curious about! (;

I have no idea about the sulphate free shampoos and conditioners but I use loreal elvive total repair mask whenever I wash my hair and it really has helped with dryness. I wash my like once a week cause I'm super lazy and my hair has been trained to not be oily

Oh and I normally go about 2 without washing my hair, since I have dry hair. and I use the aussie 3 minute miracle ( must have ) every time I wash my hair lol. and I leave it in much longer than 3 minutes.

First try getting a trim. Then try any Shea moisture shampoo n conditioner , it's all natural, sulfate free.. If you feel your hair getting oily try a dry shampoo for inbetween washes. For masks, I recommend doing a coconut oil mask..but not at the roots of your hair. Try putting your hair in a pony tail n doing the mask like that. about once a week.

For shampoo and conditioner I recommend any of the products by OGX, they're all natural and incorporate oils into many of their lines. I wash my hair with the argon oil line about 2-3 times a week (washing your hair less is best). For hair masks I recommend a deep conditioning mask, I find they make my hair the silkiest and shiniest - my favorite is the Loreal total repair 5 but I also liked the Aussie 3 minute miracle and the OGX macadamia one. This was all my personal preferences and I have thick healthy curly hair so some of these may not work for you but it sounds like your on the right track!

@Brooke L. I should be getting a trim this weekend. I am getting layers and a v-cut (: I don't have split ends so I'm not cutting much length wise! And thank you! I'll buy some coconut oil this week (:
@Bridgette D. Thank you! (: I will try some of those out! I have naturally wavy hair, but not curly!!

I second the OGX line, the coconut milk ones are my favorite
My favorite masks are the macadamia healing oil mask, and the loreal mythic oil mask
I wash my hair every second day and use the hair mask every 4 days
I also use the one and only argon oil when my hair is dry, and biosilk silk therapy on dry hair

Homemade hair masks. Hot oil treatment: mix any oils you want together try to pick rich oils (grape seed oil, avocado oil, olive oil,etc.etc). Just make sure it all equals evenly to a half cup. Warm in microwave for 30 seconds- 1 minute. Then put in hair where desired. Leave in for 30-45 minutes. Then wash out with shampoo and smaller amount of conditioner. Voila. Or rub aloe into your hair leaving it soft and shiney.
