I notice whenever I experience some issue with my skin I go on a buying frenzy. When my eyes reacted negatively to an eyeshadow I went out and pulled major hauls for eye products even though I couldn't use them while the lids healed. Most recently I had a major outbreak occur all over my face...painful cystic acne...so I hauled face products. And now that the skin on the mend I'd thought to pull out my recent purchase to try out.

Joli Teint Foundation is described as a beautifying foundation to give a sun-kissed, healthy glow according to Guerlain. I picked up the darkest shade available (Ebony) and I was happy to see that it has a heavy yellow-undertone base to it...under store lighting it appeared quite red. Since I'm in for the day I only applied over my daytime serum and later regretted it because it made it quite difficult to evenly spread/apply product. After intial application I was kinda taken by how reddish brown my face looked and immediately thought this product was a dud. After 5 minutes the tomatoe face disappeared to reveal a slightly warm, yet bright skin. My face did not look flat...it looked even. The coverage is best described as light. I could still see the fresh scarring from my cystic acne outbreak that is heavily focused on my chin but it didn't put it on spotlight so to speak. I went ahead and bronzed up my face with Guerlain Terracotta powder bronzer (along my forehead, bridge of nose, cheekbones),applied Bobbi Brown blush in apricot and did a lil highlighting using Becca Pressed highlighter in topez. Oh...I forgot to mention that I didn't use a setting powder. And to close it all out I applied a light touch of Guerlain's LE M?t?orites Perles from the 2014 Holiday Collection.

I've been wearing it for several hours and even hung outside for 45 minutes where the temp is 94 with high humidity. It seems to look better and better as the hours go by.

It doesn't highlight my enlarged pore region and nor does it feel heavy/tight on the skin.

The one downside is that its heavily fragrant so if one is sensitive to fragrance you might want to avoid this one. I'm quite impressed with this product and I wish I purchased it much sooner as it makes for a great summer foundation.

Looks great on you! Your skin looks flawless and it looks like a great match too. I don't think I would buy this considering I enjoy a medium base and I dislike heavily fragrant face products, but I'm happy you are liking it! How would you describe the frangrance of it? A perfume type scent or a strong chemical scent?

Thank you Rebecca. The fragrance...definitely perfumey. But its nonexistent after a few minutes of wear.

Shelley it looks gorgeous on you! I've been looking for something sheer & light that I can wear everyday but won't melt I this Florida weather. Something like my skin but only better. Can you compare this to something? Also, did you apply it with a brush, sponge or fingers? I'm oily so foundation transfers easily if it isn't matte.

Thank you Sadia. xxx

Tamara...its best applied with fingers. I have yet to try with a brush (will probably do so Friday). It definitely sheer and uber light...I don't even feel it. To compare it...the closet thing I can think of is Loreal's Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream which I have as well and love but I feel that between the two of them Guerlain better withstands the heat/humidity of Florida. As far as transferring I haven't experienced any as of yet and I've had it on since 9am. I have oily combo skin and today I didn't bother with using any mattifiers before application. And no oxidizing either.

Thanks so much Shelley! I'm going to be out tomorrow, maybe I will stop by Sephora and try it out. 😉

You're welcome Tamara. Definitely snag a sample before going full-size. Luckily my skin can handle Guerlain's fragrant cosmetics but some beauties are quite sensitive to it. I'm going to see how it plays with my moisturizing spf Friday so I'll update via this post of those details.

You look stunning! I don't know what scarring you're talking about because I can definitely not see anything in that picture! You look lovely. Unfortunately, my skin is uber sensitive so I'll pass on this one due to the fragrance. I finally got my skin on the mend and I don't feel like experimenting right now, haha.  :)

You're too sweet Emily. The scarring is pretty bad on my chin (a close up would really show it). Everyone has told me the same thing...even my facialist...that they can't see it. :)

I live in Florida too... makeup is so hard to use here compared to seattle! where did you get this foundation? I'm interested in giving it a test run :)

Lizzy...Sephora carries it and Guerlain also has counters in Dillards.

Well it plays nice with my beloved Josie Maran Moisturizing SPF. It made it much better to apply the foundation over as well. No oxidizing or turning into major grease ball. I've had it on since this 8am and it looks better now than first intial application. Very happy with this one.
