Is that true? I haven't worn makeup for 4 months now and I'm kind of skeptical of wearing it again but I have so many leftover scars from the last breakout that needs to be covered :(

My breakout has stopped (for now) since I used BP 2.5% but my skin has been flaky and dry.

A few questions:
1.Can I still wear makeup when my skin is flaky?
2. Does it make it harder to remove my makeup?
3. How can I properly remove my makeup?
4. Before my breakouts, I used cleansing oil wipes to remove my makeup followed by a wash with a facial cleansing gel. Is that sufficient?

kindly advise xo

Thank you!

The thing is some make up can cause break outs to some of us and okay for others.
Me for example, my best friend uses bb cream all the time and shes cool while me, one bb cream and I'm breaking out!!
So
1. Yes, but stop using if it breaks you out again
2. I don't get your point
3. Me personally, go like two or three cleaning rounds for one make up.
4. Read number 3

Makeup itself doesn't usually cause breakouts unless you're allergic to an ingredient or have incredibly sensitive skin. Not removing all of it before you go to sleep, however, can certainly contribute to breakouts. Make sure you have a skincare routine and you stick to it.

As for your questions:
1, you can, you simply will have to find products that disguise the flakiness (make sure you're using hella moisturizer to combat the dryness).
2, no it does not.
3, you should still be using a makeup remover and a facial cleanser at night, no matter what your skin is acting like.
4, yes, that is sufficient.

Would you mind telling me what the rest of your skincare routine is like? I'll be able to help you more if you can give a bit more information :)

I'm using acne treatment for blackheads at the moment and my skin can get quite dry and flaky from it.

1. yes you can still wear makeup but prep your skin well. I like to use a hydrating moisturiser, hydrating facial mist and a damp sponge when applying foundation and concealer
2. Can you expand on what you mean please?
3. I use cleansing oils or a cleansing balm to remove makeup. I never use makeup wipes as they irritate my skin
4. I don't think wipes are sufficient. Try a cleansing oil, the body shop makes a good one and so does loreal then use a gentle facial wash after if you wish or try a cream cleanser

Hi Rebecca,

For 2. I was trying to ask since my skin is flaky does it make removing makeup harder? As for 4. If wipes followed by cleansing, would that be sufficient?

No it doesn't make it harder to remove. Thanks for explaining :-) its up to you if you want to use wipes. I personally don't like them as they are full of alcohol and fragrance but if you can get alcohol and fragrance free wipes use them.

1. Ultimately, yes. You should be taking care of your skin like moisturizing and exfoliating, which will help with the flakiness of your skin. Make sure to moisturize every day before you apply makeup. Find one that is suitable for your skin.

2. No, not at all.

3. I think you're fine if you cleanse after using wipes, because those don't remove it all just what's in the surface of your skin.

Makeup in itself doesn't really cause acne unless of course your skin doesn't agree with w a certain ingredient or it has an ingredient that clogs pores, if you remove all of your makeup at the end of the day, it shouldn't really be a problem. Like some foundations clogs pores for me, while some don't, probably because of an ingredient because I've slept in makeup before and not had a problem but others I have, (don't sleep in makeup lol) Also, keep in mind if it's a hot day, don't go too heavy in the face makeup because it can and probably will clogs your pores causing acne.

Hi, thank you for reply!

What are some of the ingredients that I should be looking out for?

Really appreciate the replies xx
